When the lights go out,
And the silence is long.
And the voice in your head,
Sings a sad, sad song.

When a child lies awake,
Afraid of the world.
When suicidal thoughts occur,
In broken little girls.

When fathers and mothers,
Beat their child to the core.
And though they don't deserve it,
Parents get the better score.

When teachers teach obedience,
And expect students not to fall.
And those children grow up,
To be nothing at all.

When happiness is expensive,
A tremendous price to pay.
When children must skip school,
To work long factory days.

When people are so stern,
Such structure results in pain.
When rules and restrictions are abundant,
And laws don't protect, they just prohibit,
YOU MUST OBEY!!!!!!!!

This is the present,
The way we're living right now.
The past was better,
But its over, how?
We kept on restricting,
Society is to blame.
And if we don't change this,
The future will be more than the same.
But we've done so much damage,
I doubt we can recover.
So the world is failing miserably,
I can't help wishing for another.
