Although this isn't really new, I did make some tweaks to this artwork.This was an illustration for my own anthology self-project and I ended up using this picture in my art critique.
I was really (and still am) obsessed with whale sharks because there's something really really majestic about them being so huge yet they don't cause a lot of harm like their scary counterparts and they only eat plankton. O_O (I wish I can go see them live... it'll be a dream come true!) And I guess this sort of turned into a dream-like picture. (now looking at it, it sort of has a Mushi-shi feeling to it eh? and this was done before I got into the series... =

I too get that feeling, about how huge the sea creatures can be, although I'm more into octopuses. I find whales kind of sad, how they can be very lonely, and the sounds they make, and their whole environment is all blue and dark, sad but quite charming at the same time... Very cute artwork, loved it (:

Wow, that's a great picture! When I first looked at it I thought it was painted with watercolors. It's quiet cool that you've managed to create this effect with digital media - it also fits the content well. XD And i love the colour choice and the way they "flooding" in each other. It really transports the mysterious mood of an underwater scene.
