Ohhhhh I know. Just because this site has the fucking word "art" in the name everybody thinks they're a fucking virtuoso. But they only complain when there are naked girls. I see all kinds of childish things here and nobody will care.

They should just change the name of this site to something like "blobleez" or anything random like that. The "art" in the title is misleading. The majority of the site is just autistic kids obsessed by sonic the hedgehog or childish anime professing their passion the only way they know: by doing childish doodles all the time because they can only think of sonic or anime. That, or the completely sick "furfags" that draw animal-people because real life is so hard to them that they need to fantasize about being fucked by a fat bull, a fat gorilla or a fat bear.
And then those girls come bitching about naked girl, about camwhore.. oh come on, this site is NOT about art. It's just a stupid, meaningless name.

All those pictures of Selena Whatshername, or Hanna Montana, Demi whatever and all those teenager crap. What are they doing in DA? I see those all the time, I can't stand looking at their sickening faces even in magazine covers when I'm in the newsstand... why do brainless girls come infest this site with those pics they didn't do. Because of the "photoshop actions"? Because that's what usually come associated with those pics. No one needs to be a fucking genius to create a photoshop action, and I don't see how it is art. No one is going in their pages to bitch about how it isn't art.
See what I mean? My problem isn't about bitching. It's about how the "this isn't art" crowd is biased and partial. Just go and say "I don't want nudes in DA" instead. Because you all seem to accept the rest.

Okay, well let's get one thing straight. Don't stereotype me with the rest of the 'this isn't art' crowd. You don't know me, you don't know the first thing about what I do or say to others, so just drop that bit.
Secondly, I target people moreso into photography, because that is my thing. Perhaps I came off a bit harsh. I won't apologize, because it was plain honesty. If you took a trip to my page and read my journal, I make it pretty obvious. It's not nudes. It's not even just women and 'camwhores'. It's the sheer QUALITY of artwork. None of what she puts up is 'art'. And people like you, who ENCOURAGE her...are just as bad. So you might be attracted to her. Big deal. Tell her elsewhere. This is an art website, as shitty as 90% of it is.
I'm not saying other things aren't poor excuses for art. I never did say that. There are hundreds of thousands of deviations out there right now that make me want to gag, because they're piss poor. But like I said, I tend to target people who are into 'photography', because I consider myself a photographer. Hey, maybe I'm not a really good one. That's down to personal opinion. But in my opinion, this isn't photography. There is nothing creative about it, as with almost the rest of her gallery. Nothing wrong with having a point and shoot camera either. I had one for four years, when I first started getting into photography. But I was creative, and hellbent on learning how to use it better, even with minimum setting options and manual capabilities.
And what of her 'fan' photoshopped pieces? Stuff she pretty much just put text to? Isn't that a bit hypocritical, to bash others who do the same, and yet she's got it here in her gallery as well?
My opinion and point. Don't like it? Leave it.

Is there any need to go all so hostile and personal on me? Really, I was just expressing my point. I don't intend to change your mind or anything. But you seem hellbent in imposing your opinion.
I already said I don't disagree with most of your points. Why you still act like you must have the final word? I already said your points are okay with me. No need to defend yourself.
And what's the problem in being attracted to her? This site, as I said, isn't serious. This isn't fucking gfxartist.com. Telling her elsewhere? Why can't this be a hub for friendships? If you're in DA just for the portfolio and professional contacts, it's ok to me. But there are people here who makes friends, you know.
Besides, I never visited the "fan photoshopped pictures". Actually I ignored them. Even my best friends will know I won't visit this kind of work even if they're married to me.

There was nothing implied, as far as I'm concerned, with having the final word. I was expressing my opinion, not imposing it. I didn't sit here and tell anyone how things MUST be done. I was giving my viewpoint of it.
You seem to have missed my point entirely, though. I do see that you agreed, to an extent, with what I was saying. And that's perfectly fine. But you brought up the point yourself; telling her elsewhere.
In my humble opinion, if you were looking for a relationship or some shit on here, why not take THAT elsewhere? Fact of the matter is yes, deviantart's actual ART quality has gone downhill, yes, but it is still an art site. There's nothing listed for dating, nor making friends. That isn't to say it doesn't happen. Hell, I met my fiancee on here. But we took THAT matter elsewhere. I didn't post up photos of me half-dressed with shitty quality and absolutely no creative motive on here. There's no reason. I posted what I thought was my honest, best work. Yes, I have learned over the years. I came to dA as an amateur, but I was seeking guidance and help from those who knew more than I did. And I in turn, though it may seem just the opposite, would like to do the same. Like I said before, maybe it was a little harsh. I have a tendency to be blunt and it comes off as bitchy. I do have good intentions though.
Take of this what you will. I had no wish to argue either, nor did I really think of it as an argument so much as a discussion of differing views. But hey, not my place to say whether or not it continues.

Really.... I'm not going to offend you because I don't have a reason why. I just think it's stupid how all those "this isn't art" crowd always seem to target girl pictures and nudes. Ok, I like lovedivine, she's a great friend, and I understand your point because I hate camwhores. But I don't think they are the ones who ruin DeviantArt.
I'm here since 2004, having had various accounts altogether. What I think ruins this site are the stupid Sonic the Hedgehog doodles, the extremely tasteless badly drawn fetishes drawn by furfags, all the childish doodles from anime fans/furry fans/sonic fans. All those, really, aren't art. Most of the Deviant"Art" demographics are actually nerdy kids with some leven in the autistic spectrum, and they use this site to communicate their passions (aka anime and videogames they spend the whole day thinking about).
So, really, if you wanna be a prude, just say "I don't like nude girls in this site" instead of "this isn't art". Because if we're going to discuss art, the VAST MAJORITY of what I see here isn't art.
Besides, everybody here seems to be a fucking virtuoso. I'm sorry.... but I don't think anyone here, not even me, are eligible to discuss art. Real artists, or at least philosophy students..... I don't think there are any of them here, because this isn't a serious site.. this is no more than a step ahead from 4chan (the biggest shithole in the internet)

Good pose and use of lighting here. The camera hold gives it a bit of a 'myspace-y' feel, but considering the constraints you were working under, not a bad shot.
And it looks pretty good too.
