Admin: okay. Here I go, then. The best advice I can give you about drawing is: The drawing most come from inside of you. You most talk to the paper this way. The paper will let you be yourself. Don't try to copy anyone's style, use the yours. Practice and your style will evolve to better.

It's always nice to use reference. That picture could help with the face, in fact you could copy the face shape completely. All artist use reference, and as long as you don't copy the picture the same down to the last detail, its original, and really helps
It is the beginning of a really nice drawing though
And I hate hands also.Β
The trick also for this is reference. Β Look up some pictures of real and anime hands and just practice drawing them seperate, and then try to draw them on your character.

Practice makes better! No need to fret bout it too much.
a few pointers for this drawing;
- possibly make the jaw line narrower and thinner to create the typical anime/manga look. Instead of the "V" look, go for some "|"'s on the sides so you have more angles on it.
- Also, maybe make the eyes a little more thin, instead of square anime eyes (which is some people's style) but most of the time, they're more like "<>" shaped.
- Make those arms more defined! So that we can tell where it stops and how (the crown shaped cuff thingies are a bit confusing)

I am thinking about coloring it and I agree with changing the face a bit. I never really thought about having a lighter sketch but I can see how that would be important

yeah for ears i sketched hard and when i colored it i could still see the lines. then one day i saw this chick drawing really lightly then darkening up for the final shading. that day changed art for me
