Description This is the second pony I started using 's pattern. I started her over a year ago for the Boy, but I got hung up on her cutie mark. I did the first side and it turned out good, but then I couldn't get the second one right, and I stopped working on her. I have a real problem with symmetry. That's why most of my half done pieces are...well...half-done.

Finally got over it for this one anyway. I had a really hard time with the forelock, and I'm not completely happy with it. Tho as soon as I finish her, and give her to the Boy, he starts chewing on her horn absentmindedly as he's playing a game. You'd think he was 3 years old.

Now that Twilight is a princess tho, I'm thinking of adding wings.

She looks great! You did an awesome job on the details like the eyes and cutie mark.

One thing you can do for wings is make removable ones. You'd need to split the back seam and sew a magnet into her between her shoulders, then you put a matching magnet in her wings. So she can be a Princess or not, depending on your mood.

I've been thinking of that, but I'm worried that I would need a somewhat strong magnet to be able to hold the winds on through 2 layers on felt, but that if it is too strong, it will put a lot of strain on the fabric when trying to take the wings off.

On another note, I've been having trouble with the bottoms of the hooves. They want to bulge out when stuffed and won't lay flat on the bottom. I've noticed that other people have had this problem too. Any suggestions?

I use small rare earth magnets (craft stores carry them) for removable wings. Part of the reason you put the magnet under the shoulders is that it's right under 2 seams (the back and the shoulder darts). The seams help to stabilize the fabric.

I find that using plastic beans in the feet helps with the flatness. You have to be careful to keep the feet flat on the table while stuffing, but the beans can hold a flatter bottom shape.

same here, you used the filly eye, instead of the mare eye. Also a little less stuffing in the top mane, otherwise you did a great job. She is really cute

She looks pretty awesome. The cutie mark looks lovely! I have a problem with symmetry too, so you're not alone there. BD; You should be really happy with the overall turnout though.

I've done just the one in the past, but most that I've seen all have two. And in the show, they all have it on both sides, tho this is likely just for to make the animators job easier since they don't always have to think about which side is which.
