why is it scarves always make animated characters look cool? But anyone who wears one in real life either looks like a girl (if your a guy who wears one), or a hipster.

Scarves makes animated characters look cool because they're loose and floaty and as such there is a plethora of cool effects you can do with it. However, Real Life's animator put all the budget into physics but not into smooth and classy animation
