technically, it's not a painting, but the worn out paint on the original object is the reason for that effect. the only thing i did was put two copies of the image on top of each other.

Don't know. It was a happy coincidence that is 'discovered' the Difference opacity mode in Photoshop. It started as an attempt to make something out of a bad photo. Some very unremarkable photos can be the starting point for stunning pictures.
