the great people can arrive at such thoughts by themselves.
i am just using icolorama to do the thinking, and then i sit back to admire and tweak the results.
the funny thing is that i used a filter in called 'escher' to create the effect. the sharp lines, repeating patterns and strange planes of escher have interacted with the colours and textutes of the clouds to create a gaudi efect

and where is that 'escher' filter? i'm using program on linux by gimp for such plays!

icolorama (from appstore) > form > escher
it is actually a group of 18 'presets' - algorithms for making fractals from the photo one fed in, i think. there are also 10 settings for tweaking the end result.
it's a long time since i used gimp - but i remember there were lots of filters/plugins, and possibilities of adding new ones.

i was thinking of parallel universes with holes in them - like cheese. looking through the holes, one sees several 'parallel' sets of chimneys

Cheese holes looks like a good metaphor for mazes ...Β on the other hand, chimneys reminds me of complicated paths as well.
