Moar easter eggs! I just love the image of Garfield on the wall, and he'd probably love being revered like that too, honestly. I recognize the other cats as well, but can't quite place them at the moment.
Pretty cool action sequence, pretty dramatic and I love the designs on the mummy changelings.

The cat on the right is Tom! You know, from Tom and Jerry! I guess I could have picked more of an intense expression, like this one:
or something goofier, like this
I might love story driven cartoons but I also really like slapstick cartoons and classic Tom and Jerry are kinds of slapstick for me. The one in the middle is Oggy from Oggy and the Cockroaches. That's a slapstick cartoon I discovered about 3 months ago. So far, I've watched the first season and I have to say, it's rockin'. Probably not as good as Tom and Jerry from the 50s but still, a worthy successor I think.
Of course, all ester eggs had to be cats!

I see now. I know a lot about Tom and Jerry from pop culture osmosis and have alway meant to check it out, but never quite got around to it. Suppose I have plenty of time to do so now, all things considered...
I'm pretty sure I did watch Oggy as a kid back in the 90s. He has a friend with green fur that helps him battle the cockroaches and there's no dialogue, right?

The classic Tom and Jerry from the 40s to 60s are cartoon gold for me. I absolutely love them. It's just pure comedy entertainment. No dialogue, just the music and the imagery.
Oggy and the Cockroaches is actually a bit of a spiritual successor to Tom and Jerry for me. I have watched a lot of great story driven cartoons but I've never really seen any good slapstick cartoons which would reach the level of Tom and Jerry. Just pure carnage and no dialogue. You're right on the money with what you remember, there is a green cat named Jack who helps him. It's great fun!

When I'm going to fill up the background with something, why not make it something meaningful.
