We like to think that the ocean is such a sweet and wondorous place full of beauty. It actually kinda is, coral reefs are pretty. That is, unless you dive really deep down, into the deepest trench, the darkest pits below the very seabed lead. Into a place beyond known reality. This place hosts monstrous creature whose very presence is said to drive other denizens of upper oceans insane. Exploring such places is most unwise ... unless you have a Megalodon Mermech on your side.

To prevent any possible intrusion of the deep undersea abominations, the Deep Ones, into the mermaid heavens, a new kind of weapon is born. An immaculate machine of unseen complexity as well as a living being. But there is one thing which even the astutest mermaids cannot create, a mind to control such power. That is where cephalopod mermaids come in. They live deeper than any other mermaid sub-species, nearest to the horrors of the depths than any of their close step-sisters so their minds are much more resilient towards the otherworldly terror of the Deep Ones. Moreover, they possess tentacles and they can use these extra limbs to interface with the complex machine. But that is not enough! Only the best can hope to grasp all the combat doctrines and skills needed, not to mention the fleeting ability to merge their mind with the consciousness of the living Megalodon Mermech.

Achieve all the above and you become the mermech pilot, wielding it's awesome power. The size and armor alone are a thing to behold, yet despite its hardiness, the mermech is far from slow. It can still move with the same speed and grace as an ordinary mermaid. Integrated in its shell are a number of torpedo banks to bombard any truly giant deep sea beast. Something getting a bit close? Don't worry, you also have a massive pulse gun in your left hand. That thing is big enough push any moderately sized monster out of your away and straight up crush anything that is of smaller size. Oh, but about those who actually get to you. I've got you covered, friend. In your right hand, you wield a massive sword to shred apart anything which is too close for comfort.
