Momo didn`t take part in that Chunin exam, but she was impressed by skills of Shinki`s team.But she was hurt by Shinki`s opinion about Konoha`s shinobi. And she wanted to prove she could handle with his Iron Sand.
Momo should take part of next exam, but she didn`t know the results of this exam, so she wasn`t sure she will meet them next time. So, she catched up them before they left Konoha and challenged them.
But Shinki refused immediately, because Momo didn`t seem enough strong.
He walked away with Araya and Yodo, leaving Momo alone and very mad.
