Description Hopes are fleeting,
dreams change by the hour,
and fireflies burn out.
Oh fire flies through the air,
but no-one cares.
Our eyes close,
in a whisper.
A kiss on the lips,
a shadow of desire.
Like eight day old roses.
Oh

Hold my hand,
make the rain come down again.
The silver sound of joy.
And though I may be old,
call me lover,
and I will prove my worth.

Mountains crumble,
day by day,
the stories lost.
And everything we do or say,
builds upon the rubble.
Bulbs burn out,
and flowers die.
Streams run dry,
deny, deny.
The story of our lives.
Oh

Hold my hand,
make the rain come down again.
The silver sound of joy.
And though I may be old,
call me lover,
and I will prove my worth.

I am cast down,
from the sky,
and I try to believe.
What is right?
what is wrong?
And as the world stands by,
with nails in their eyes,
I weep.
And by and by,
like Emily.
When she could not stop for death,
oh please stop for me.
And please,

Hold my hand,
make the rain come down again.
The silver sound of joy.
And though I may be old,
call me lover,
and I will prove my worth.

Call me lover,
and I will prove my worth.

YOU DID IT! I didn't think it was going to happen but finially somebody wrote something so great that I have to add it to my favourites. These are all your words, right? I'd love to hear the song sometime! I'm going to give this a , but do me one favour... please fix the spelling error in the 5th stanza "oh pleas stop for me". You are reffering to Emily Dickinson, right? Lovely, Lovely, Lovely!! I think you've inspired me to finish the song of my life (I've been writing it since last January, but I've laid it aside). There is but one thing I was wondering - "And though I may be old, call me lover, and I will prove my worth." - You're not old. Is this from the perspective of you, years down the road, talking to the man you will grow old with? I don't think I can say enough good about this piece. It is simple enough to be remembered while delving into visual imigary without being cliché.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOMEONE LIKED IT!! ::calming down:: okay sorry it's just you know that I never finish songs, and I rarely like them when I do, but I did love this one. Yes indeed I was referring to Emily Dickinson, I'm so glad that you caught that. I knew some people would, but sometimes things don't click. (I almost named it Like Emily, but Nicole said that she thought that Call Me Lover fit better.)

When I used the expression "And though I may be old, call me lover and I will prove my worth." It reffers in a way to the things I've been through. So many people at our age are just learning to question things, and to worry about the little things (That in the long run really do matter) But Mark, you personally know about some of my struggles (mostly with cutting) And while I've more or less gotten past it, it's changed the way I think. And for the past few years I worry about things, rather than taking advantage of being able to be carefree as a child/teenager. So really if I were to translate, it just means " I know that I'm frustrating and hard to deal with sometimes, but love me back, and I'll show you that it'll be okay".

And yes, I will ideed fix that spelling error.

Mark, you are my hero, you always seem to give me the courage to keep on writing. You have no idea how thankfull I am for you.
