Whoa, great job on the stompy boots! What materials did you use to make those?

i used the

kinpatsucosplay tutorial - used eva foam and covered it with fleece- i also had to come up with my own way of attaching it to boots so i could walk around the con-that part was not included in her tutorial lol

They're flocked with fleece? On the outside? O.o
How'd you wind up getting them to attach to the boots?

yes, i made the shape out of foam and then hot glued light pink fleece on the outside. the bottom is still open, thats where i attached the shoe with e6000(super glue) to the actual boot, but i had to attach pieces of foam to the actual shoe to make the sole big enough to fit the boot cover i made. Its a little unstable, but it held together for the entire con i was walking around all day for

Huh. Why fleece on the outside though? I always got the impression Ochako's leg armor was made of some kind of metal or plastic, so wouldn't the outside be smooth and not fuzzy?

Ack... unstable costume parts are the worst, especially something on the legs like that. By the way, as someone who customizes toys and models here's a tip that you may find useful - is you're using a cyanoacrylate (CA) like super glue and you want to quick-cure it, dust it with baking soda. This is also a good way to build up structure for reinforcing joints and seams, or for back-filling gaps.

i liked the look a lot, also covering it with stuff seemed to be the easiest way to preserve the look ( i didn't have to worry about paint chipping) and also cover all the seams where i glued the foam together. Urarakas large boots are used to soften her landing, so a doubt they would be made of metal. Also i thought the fuzzy boots would match the outfit and her personality. in photos you can hardly tell

With cosplay its always something. i mostly work with e6000 and super glue, so i dont really have to worry about curing time. i appreciate the advice but involving baking soda in the process just seems like another step and a messy one. i already have to deal with dust forming from me dremeling foam - thats always a pain to clean. i dont wanna involve more dust and powders in the process.

That does make a lot of sense. TBH I've only a passing knowledge of MHA. Never watched it, read up on some of the characters since I see them online so much. I know her powers are gravity based so I thought the armor on her legs and wrists were weights to help her remain stable when she decreases gravity, or help her maintain balance and whatnot. I do like how the students are provided with custom tailored equipment to help them gain better control over their Quirks.

Oh God, dremel dust! I often worry what all the chemicals and debris from my model work might be doing to my brain cells x___x But it's not like I'm gonna stop. I'm careful as can be, never reckless with my health or safety when it comes to this stuff, but I wanna keep doing it no matter the risks ^_^
