Thank you so much for your critique, I really appreciate it!

And yeah, it is possible the colours may be a bit off, I always have problem with this, because of my monitor. I too tried calibrating it, but I guess I didn't get it right... But I always try to check the contrast and colours on our second laptop, which is usually quite accurate.
Heh, I have the tendency to leave a lot of space on the left or right of the subject I photograph... I guess it became my bad habit now, because you are not the first one to point it out

But thanks again for taking your time to write this critique, I'm always glad to hear other people's opinion on my photos!

Unfortunately, monitors are the weakest link in the whole photography workflow.

The only way to calibrate them is to use a calibration device. I think all of them are put out by X-Rite ([link] ). I have been using the i1 for a number of years.

The other problem is that cheaper monitors simply do not display colours accurately. I guess this shouldn't be a great surprise, as people playing games, surfing the net or watching movies really wouldn't notice, but photographers and videographers do.
I use dual monitor setup. My main for the actual work and a smaller side one for holding menus and other "stuff". Even though I have calibrated both monitors, my cheap one (about 1/4 the cost of my expensive one) has a blue cast.

Anyways, I love the lizard (ok chameleon).

Well, I have problems with the colours, because they look different on my laptop and my mom's laptop - I always try to make them look so they look alright on both of them... but when I check my DA on some other, for example school PCs, in the end, they look a bit off anyway... it's really troublesome

Yes, he was beautiful We'd love to have one as a pet... unfortunately the terrarium we have now is to small for them.

LucieJirankova In reply to ArcrealmStudio1 [2011-07-27 18:14:33 +0000 UTC]

Well, this species is quite big, but the ones they sell in pet shops are a bit smaller. But still, we used to have skinks in that terrarium, and they were quite tiny.
