Description
She's locked up with a spinning wheel
She can't recall what it was like to feel
She says, "This room's gonna be my grave
And there's no one who can save me,"
She sits down to her colored thread
She knows lovers waking up in their beds
She says, "How long can I live this way
Is there someone I can pay to let me go?
'Cause I'm half sick of shadows
I want to see the sky
Everyone else can watch as the sun goes down
So why can't I"

Okay for like 2 years now I've been wanting to illustrate that song (Or more...how I picture the Lady of Shalott looking) and I finally did it!
This is inspired by the song by Emilie Autumn which is just beautiful, and that is based on the poem/legend 'The Lady of Shalott' which is also really good! We studied it in school like 6 years ago and I really enjoyed it...
Her colours are based mostly off this beautiful piece of artwork www.tate.org.uk/art/images/wor… Which is of the Lady of Shalott! But I used more green because that's just how I imagine her...and yes I know it looks a lot like Odette's dress from The Swan Princess
I'm mostly happy with this one, actually! I'd have liked to do a background but I really don't think I'd be able to do it how I want it to look so it seemed pointless! She mostly looks how I pictured her! I'm particularly pleased with the shading on the skin and the hair!
Hope you like it!
