Most dialogue in one page so far!I had so much trouble with this page I had to redo all the sketches 3 times... why I had difficulty, I don't know, but I'm glad it's done :"D

He's just totally unthreatened by the large (by comparision) predator : D
Aside from his face and tail, Max looks pretty much like a cat. I think it would help him look more like a mouse if you made his body and legs less defined and 'softer'. Mice also have less fur on their forelimbs and feet making them pinkish, and their feet are more like hands than cat paws.

And yeah, I've gone through a lot of style changes with Max to reach this point, and part of the reason I don't just draw him with photorealistic mouse anatomy is because he's not really a mouse... or a rat. He's kind of a mixture of a lot of rodents, proportion-wise and detail-wise, and this kind of causes problems with how to draw him? Because he's a bit too large to be a mouse (compared to moon's size), and he has the tail and ears of a rat instead of a mouse, but a lot of the rest of his features are mouse-like, and in the original 4th grade crayon-illustrated story his name was (don't laugh) Maximum Premiouse. :"D So he's basically a rat but I wanted to keep some mousey features too because of the original design.Β
Also, I wanted to make the style that I drew Max in fit the style that I drew Moon in, and moon doesn't really look like a cat at all except her face, ear shape and paw shape, so I figured it would be ok.Β
Soyeah. I draw Max with larger hindquarters, smaller paws, rodent teeth, smaller ears, and a bigger head-to-body ratio than Moon, but other than that he really doesn't look like any animal in particular. I should've just made this whole comic much more realistic but I can't really go back now :"D Thanks for the advice though!
