Description

A belated Christmas gift for of his fan experiment Blizzy! ^^ He had to be drawn with the iconic scarf in his new design at least once, right? XD

To be honest, I'm not as happy with the shading on the scarf as I would like to be, but I'm not really sure where else to go with it... XP Critiques are welcome!

those eyes are killing meeeee. ooof. Angela, your adorable drawing style is going to give us all cavities.

I like the softer look of this image, with the gray lines matching his color scheme. It's cute and cozy and it works so well.  His expression looks like a little kid on Christmas morning, full of joy and wonder.

This is such a cute picture of Blizzy! His expression is absolutely precious, I just want to pick him up and give him a big hug!

I really like the soft shading you used for the picture, and how you used a bluish tint. It's reminiscent of shadows cast on snow, which is very fitting for Blizzy. And I love the way you colored his eyes, they look so much more expressive than the standard experiment eyes.

The part of the scarf that wraps around Blizzy's neck looks really good, but the ends that hang down do look a little stiff, which might be why you had some trouble with the shading. Adding a couple of simple folds might make it look a little more natural and would also create more obvious areas where shadow would be cast, which could help with the shading.

Thank you so much! This is a lovely gift!!! I just love what you did to the eyes. They look so pretty. Eeee you also drew my favorite experiment smile with just a little teeth showing. I also love your color composition. I usually use cooler whites for Blizzy, but I noticed you used whites a little more on the warmer side. That was a great choice because scarves are suppose to make us feel warm or cozy. It looks like he's out enjoying the sun or looking at a lit Christmas tree. This is too cute. I'm definitely including this in my rotation of avatars. Thanks for doing this.

Fabric is definitely beyond my skill level, but I did notice a couple of things. The scarf on his right looks to be fighting gravity. It should hang towards his right foot much like how the left looks. Also, for shading, maybe the dark lines made it challenging to decide how to shade. I would only use dark lines for patterns, unless the fabric forcible bends like around the neck for scarves. However, as it hangs, I would refrain from using dark lines and focus on shading and highlights. I'm sure you'll get better when you practice more and more.
