"She's so pretty, uncle. Where did you get her?"

Michael smiled at his neice, holding his hand out. The vampire feline on his shoulder leapt down onto his hand gracefully, her tails dancing behind her with a mind of their own.

"Seven?" he asked, reaching up and giving his cat a gentle scratch behind the ears. The tiny feline purred loudly, before smiling at Maria and winking one socket, flashing her teeth. "Oh. Your dad found her in the Hinterlands a long time ago. When Behemoth killed my dog."

"Oh!" Maria had heard about the incident with Coral-Anne. Seven leapt over onto the young skeleton's shoulder, curling up and staring up at her master.

"Seven is a very rare breed." Michael continued. "Never seen anything like her before. Doubt we will again for a very long time."

"How old is she, uncle?"

"Hmn... At least a good 20 years or so, now." the skeleton grinned at his niece. Maria's sockets grew wide. "But she's still got quite a while to go." A pause, and Michael grinned down at her. "Well, I have a meeting with your father. Would you mind looking after her for me?"

"Of course not, uncle~" Maria giggled, taking the cat in her arms.
