Self Portrait for a blog thing. This came out...really ordinary. ._. Oh well, at least I can say I exprimented with directional lighting. However, some parts of the coat I like in terms of shading. The right arm not so much; too much light, methinks.Related content

A quick tip: Keep in mind that faces are not perfectly flat, so be careful when shading that you don't halve your face with a straight line.

I spent so long trying to fix that but I gave up in the end ;_; Oh well, the colour blending still came out alright I think.
And hey, your art is still pretty damn good. I'm working on my lineart and speed so that I can at least keep up in conceptualization for things XP

Co-incidentally, I was looking in your gallery later and saw something that made me go "I wonder if I can do a spin on this with my techniques for practice o.o" So...I might do something like that soon if you don't mind?
And hey, trick to getting good isn't practice, but mimicking people's actions when they work. Just watch someone paint in photoshop and you're insta-pro apparently!

I use a Intuos 4 Wacom Tablet. I think that's how you spell it, anyway. I prefer tablet over pen and paper now cause I prefer the disjointed feel rather than drawing directly onto a surface, then again, it was a bit trippy when I first started. And the thing that inspired me was the...uhhh...Most Recent one of Sekai, I think?
