Description

Commission for and his OCs Karen and Toon Kinka.

Karen lives in a world where imagination is strong enough to influence reality and, during the Disney Renaissance, enough people were focused on toons that they actually manifested into reality, ToonTowns popping up all over the world, already populated with bouncing, indestructible cartoon characters.

Karen's condition resulted when she accidentally ingested a few drops of Toon Ink (a heavily controlled substance that can be produced, with great effort, by toons) in her coffee which caused her Id to manifest itself as Kinka, a Kinkajou toon who is almost directly inverse to her human counterpart. To trigger her transformation, Karen usually has to experience strong emotions which bring out the toon. The two are directly linked, so anything that happens to one happens to the other.

History: Karen was born in Maine, raised there and developed into a very shy, introverted girl. She went to school in Ohio, at a school adjacent to a ToonTown, where she developed an aversion to them, finding them to be irresponsible, overly noisy and, in some cases, more than a little psychopathic. After she graduated with a business degree, she got a job at a local bookstore, she had her fateful incident with her morning coffee. Now she struggles to deal with Kinka, slowly coming to terms with the toon living inside her head. Though she'll never admit it, she secretly enjoys her time as Kinka, enjoying the freedom from her insecurities and uncertainties. She's also a big fan of the superhero genre, something that she and Kinka share.

As a toon, she's practically indestructible, although she shares their vulnerability to the turpentine-acetone-benzene combination known as Dip. She's irrepressibly optimistic and cheerful and shares her counterpart's book smarts, although she likes to play the ditzy cheerleader most of the time. She's also an incredibly talented painter.
History: Kinka is very happy that she exists, although a little frustrated as to where she now exists. Kinka firmly believes that Karen is not grasping her full potential and that her goals are boring and unambitious. She dreams of a sexy Karen who embraces her deep seated toon nature, partying and playing all night long, roaming the country with a pack of other free spirited nomads, making her money through art and sex. As such, she constantly pushes her counterpart in that direction, although she's started to accept that she's not being fair to Karen with this behavior.
