Well first of all, all my artworks can look better.

hmmm... I never really thought of doing that, I was behind deadline so I didn't really put that much detail into it.

To tell the truth I just wing shading and highlighting. I mean I've never learned or anything I just go with it.

Again, behind deadline but I understand where you're coming from. I don't really mess around with the eyes too much but only when it's a close up.

Thank you, I was worried that wrist wasn't going to look right at first, but it turned out pretty good.

Like I said, I normally wing it because I really don't know how to use photoshop.

what do you mean more stretched out? I think I understand but I want to make sure, I mean this is all good information.

I used a tablet pen, I have a bamboo tablet. It's hard to draw and I feel like it holds me back on greater details but still it saves a lot of money on paper and pencils.

Pen Tool, I think that's what you call it. (the pen that goes with the tablet I use)

I've tried that a few times and I've even try to follow their steps in doing it to, but it seems I somehow mess up. When I do ask them a question on how to fix it, they never respond back. I'm willing to learn if I can do it right.

I just want to say thank you, this is really great advice. I was thinking of pushing myself harder on my next pic.

Ah okay so the picture was behind a deadline and you only used the pen and not the Pen Tool that comes in Photo Shop.

I see.

Well the Pen Tool is very simple to use and there's plenty of tutorials on here that explain how to use it.

Plenty more to choose from.

Lots of Photo Shop tutorials that teach so much and can help you improve.

Notice the glowing light purple that goes across the hair area and in more than one part of the hair.

Or if you're using just white you can combine colors to help bring out the highlights of the hair.

For example, in the link right above this, she used black as the base color then used purple to bring it out even further by combining the two colors leaving a small white area-or instead of purple you can use blue.

You don't need special paper or pencils.

I mean it's all about how well you utilize your tools.

This work , this piece and this work were completed with using basic computer printer paper and crayola color pencils.

Even I envy her skills seeing as how much I suck!

But yeah, it's all about how much you utilize your tools to the fullest extent.

Most of what I already know about color pencils and photo shop comes from guru

alright, i've attempted the pen tool part. I think I will take it one step at a time and get used to it. I'm still wanting to improve my skills, but it's going to take some time. Oh here's a link to the pen tool part [link]

heh, thanks for noticing the hair too, I wanted to make it more alive in this pic. Guns are so hard for me but I can draw them somewhat okay.
