This is beautiful. I absolutely love the lighting and detail you show.

I also really like the subject of your picture~ not some gorgeous flower that everyone expects to be beautiful, but rather a branch on a rather unremarkable tree. Very well picked! You brought out it's beauty, not by manipulation or mounds of editing, either. Just by capturing what it was.

That said, I love the detail in this! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/lā€¦ " width="26" height="17" alt="" title="Love"/> The small little flower ( is that a flower, or just a really beeutiful seed?) colors look so nice against the green, and I love how you can clearly see the separate petals/things. The blurry background really makes it stand out.

I think I prefer this one to the first, because of your perspective. Your perspective here seems to capture this as a whole, and seems to have more vision.

Great job! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/cā€¦ " width="20" height="20" alt="" title="Clap"/>

Thank you so much for your critique!

And I don't know what the flower thing is, haha.

The focus is really nice here. Especially towards the head of the flower. I think the colors are lovely, and not oversaturated.

The angle of the piece is great, along with a powerful zoom and crop. Nicely centered as well.

Wonderful piece here!

Lovely muted pallete and use of a larger aperture, but the composition looks a little bland to my eye.

Thanks! What would you do to improve the composition?

AkimaDoll In reply to luckydesigns [2011-06-20 03:21:49 +0000 UTC]

Probably focus in more on the main subject so that it takes up more of the frame.

I like your composicionn I like the color that is not so outrageous is not as opaque as a medium shade and looks good, I like your concerted approach. Actually doing very good picture: D

First off let me say that I thought this piece was lovely immediately after I saw the thumbnail! The colors are soft, and the focus is really nice, good DoF as well. I really like how the needles blur as they get further from the focal point at the end of the branch. I agree that this angle is more flattering than the other version, it gives more depth, and provides a focal point that isn't right in the middle which provides better composition.

Again I really think this is a beautiful piece! Great work!

First of all, I really love the overall mood of this photograph. It makes me feel peaceful and happy. The details are beautiful and the placement is good. The blurring of the background really brings my focus into the center which is crisp and interesting. Honestly, I can't find anything to "critique" on as this is a gorgeous photo - great job!

That's one pretty pine tree XD I think I like this version better, it's not a professional reason but it's just because you can see more of the flowers and I like the angle > <

This is a good fill the frame. With the background blurred it makes the mysteriously unknown, to me, plant stick out. It is a very solid piece all and all.

To be honest, I really like this version a lot better than the first one. The angle of the shot really makes the object much more interesting to look at. The focus is done nicely so that the viewer can see the object's texture as well as its form and volume.
