This is also technically a sneak peek at what I'm working on in Photoshop right now. I'll leave it up to you to guess just what it is. ...This is also to make up for my reoccurring inactivity lately.

Basics:
Name: Jaystrike
Gender: Tomcat (Male)
Name Meaning: Prefix given due to his pelt colours and markings somewhat resembling a blue jay. Suffix was given to him after his father.
Past Names: Jaykit, Jaypaw

Description: A Russian Blue tomcat. His left fore-paw is a lighter blue/gray shade, just as his chest, underbelly, and hind-toes are, while his left fore-toes are almost pure white, and his right left paw and tail-tip are both a rather dark shade of gray/blue. Has bright, golden amber coloured eyes. Very independent.

Biography:
Jaystrike was born in an unusually small litter of one, small being due to how his parents both came from large litters themselves, to a gray and white she-cat known as Poppyfern and a Russian blue tomcat known as Quickstrike. Originally, his mother had wanted to name him Bluekit instead of Jaykit, but decided to name him Jaykit instead when her mate continued to insist that he looked more like a blue jay than anything and that ‘Blue’ wasn’t as suited to a tomcat as ‘Jay’ was. So Jaykit he was. The rest of Jaystrike’s kithood was basically as average as it gets, only his parents were old and retired to the elders den as soon as their son was born. When he was made Slatewhisker‘s, a newly named warrior at the time, apprentice, however, whitecough started spreading throughout the clan. Despite all of Jaystrike’s efforts to keep his parents healthy, even going so far as skipping training sessions every moon to just bring them the herbs they needed despite how the medicine cat had control over the situation, both of them passed out, not having been able to fight the sickness due to their elder ages and weakened immune systems. Rockfall‘s, Rockpaw at the time, also fell to the same sickness, only she had had to brother to turn to, but upon seeing how miserable Jaypaw looked, she began trying to talk to him and kept it up even though he gave very small responses in return. This continued on until Rockpaw’s older brother, Shadowfur died off when the epidemic turned into the deadly greencough when the two of them were warriors. Jaystrike had of course warmed up to her a bit by then and so he took it into his own paws to try and comfort her and help her get through that, also strengthening their friendship unintentionally this way.
Then Rockfall was named ThornClan’s new deputy. Jaystrike of course hadn’t expected to be picked himself, as he had no interest in leading the clan despite how Rockfall seemed to believe that he deserved the position much more than he did. Even so, he actually does tend to keep her on track with what a deputy is supposed to do and makes sure that she doesn’t accidentally make a fool of herself around or in front of the other clans at gatherings. He currently has no attractions to any cat.

“ThornClan and my own’s leader. Molestar is quite the respectful tomcat and most-certainly deserving of his title, however, I rarely associate with him and don’t really know him all that well personally. Rockfall does, however, and I’ll take her word for it with what she says about him. He is quite sickly though, lately and I’m beginning to worry as to whether or not this disease will spread and if it will take one of his lives from him.. I understand that he has to appear strong, but he needs to try to put some time off to himself so that he can heal instead of worrying about us all of the time.”

“Rockfall is by far, one of the closest friends that I have, if she would even call us that. She is a rather…strange she-cat, though. Always unsure of and doubting herself, claiming that Molestar could have chosen a much better cat to be the deputy. She can be rather forgetful and clumsy at times though and so I’ll give her that, but I personally believe that when the time comes for her to take the place as the clan’s leader, which great StarClan is hopefully still moons from now, she will make a fine leader. She does need to learn exactly what personal space is, though. Sharing tongues and such should only be used between mates. If not, then at least not on me.”

“I don’t know much about our medicine cat, I’ve never been gotten sick or badly injured so that I had to go to her, but she seems to be a respectable cat. We’re lucky to have her as our medicine cat.”

“I personally don’t like him at all. He’s disrespectful to she-cats, always acting as though he can pick and choose between them as if they’re prey and then throw them away once he’s finished, only to have them come crawling back to him.. And really, I don’t remember doing anything to him, but whenever we’re both around Rockfall he seems to get all…competitive. Does he have a crush on her? Because really, I’m not about to get in the way of that with anybody.”

“There are quite often times whereas the two of us don’t really get along very well, he can be a bit snappy and impatient now, but I do have a great deal of respect for him. He was my former mentor, after all. I suppose that he may seem unkind to other cats, but if you were ever an apprentice of his, you would know how kind-hearted he can be.”

I still say that Molestar was wrong to assign me with an apprentice when I prefer to hunt alone, and that’s been more than proven with how it’s usually other cats that are training him, or he’s out with the other apprentices.” *Sigh* “He’s a fine cat and will make a fine warrior soon enough, but I’ve still let him down so selfishly.. My first apprentice.. It’s no wonder Slatewhisker has been snappy with me lately.”
