You did some nice makeup work on her; those vibrant blue eyes are very elegant. Like those little tatoo type marks on her cheeks, too; makes her look like a priestess of some sort.

Not really too keen on some of those bigger Japanese dolls (the anime esque faces on them tend to bother me a bit) but this one is cute.

Nice pose, too.

Thanks! For many many years Asian Ball Jointed Dolls scared me. I think it was the glass eyes and the very dead look they all had. But after a lot of thinking, I decided that I would try painting them instead. And I think this caused me to bond more with the idea of having a doll in my home! The eyes are far more pleasant when the owner creates them, and give the doll much more personality .

I see what you mean by the dead look; to me the larger ones with glass eyes have always reminded me of marionette puppets from their loose and natural looking stance...actually kinda creepy when you think about it I always wanted one of the larger ball jointed dolls (I love Lishe by Luts...her face shape is so beautiful) but I don't have $750 to put down on one.

I also agree; when you make something yourself there's a sense of pride and joy when you accomplish making something that was worth the time. I'd paint my own dolls too, but I've never been any good when it comes to painting.

I'm actually more of a Barbie-sized doll person, but luckily even these companies make dolls that sized. In fact, I actually just upgraded my favorite Barbie with an Obitsu body to where she's not so stiff anymore.

I'd like to look at some more of your creations
