To the developers thought probably: "Long flowing hair and a form-fitting outfit did wonders for Mirandas fanbase. Lets try the same thing with Ashley".Β

Honestly, I liked Ash how she was in me1. Not a xenophobic fanatic but just healthy skepticism toward aliens. Normal human reaction I would say and that's why I liked her.

When I read haters calling her "racist" I know that these people can not tell to difference between real racism and reasonable political distrust (plus the story of her grandpa).Β
About Horizon, what was she supposed to think? Shepard was freaking DEAD and then after two years (s)he came back, working for Cerberus. How could one not assume, that Shepard was an imposter or clone or brainwashed cyber-zombie?Β

yeah, i like this version more than the original. Femshep and Ashley were in the military, they needed to be more muscled, just a bit more to look realistic.Β

Well, re-using models and all that good stuff.Β But yeah I wish fem Shep and Ash were a bit bulkier. It looked like they wouldn't be able to lift some of the guns with their twig arms. Salt and Wanted movies come to mind. I wanted to cry when I saw poor Angelina Jolie trying to hold some of the bigger guns straight. You could see her hands tremble in some shots.

The scene where Shep fight with James in the Normandy Shuttle bay and Fem-Shep wears her dress.
I cannot believe that a woman with those arms can fight against James.
But as you said, in Movies and Games, the makers want to show beauty and sexiness... and no tough women... which is sad
