Design by Yakalentos !
==========================
Name: Hugh
Gender: Cis Male
Sexuality: He doesn't know yet
Species: Mienfoo/Archen Fusion
Type: Fighting/Flying
Nature: Naïve (+Spd, -SpD)
Rank: Silver

Around 10-12 in human years.
--------------------------------------------------------
Bio:
Before becoming a team rocket member: Hugh's egg was laid in a quiet nursery and tended to by a Mienfoo couple and their trainer, all three of whom doted on him. When they left one day for a supply run, Team Rocket snuck into his nursery, and stole him from the nest. They brought his egg back to the hideout, where it was experimented on to fuse it with Archen DNA.

Before present day hideout: When he hatched, a pokemon who had helped steal his egg, Frostfoot , declared themselves his caretaker, and ever since, they were family. The hideout is all he's ever known, and for now, he aims to earn a higher rank and make his peers and father proud.

Bronze Rank: Hugh was bunked with NaliaSetareMercy , and (after Mercy ranked up) Balerion  as a bronze rank. He went through the mandatory training course twice, once with Bandaid  and Milo , which he didn't do too well on. However, after doing it the second time with Gloria , he did a far better job and managed to impress the watching commanders. During Team Galatic's attack, Hugh wound up treating Mercy and a few other mons in the med bay, and wound up helping to fight off stray galatic mons who tried to fight their way inside.

Silver Rank: A combination of his loyalty towards his the hideout and helpfulness during the battle against Team Galatic led him to rank up earlier then his father. Hugh, of course, was overjoyed, but Frostfoot worried for him. Hugh couldn't understand why. For now, he's enjoying his new fancy rank.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personality: Hugh is a cheerful, kind pokemon who is always eager to help. However, he is young and naïve, and has yet to learn the crueler sides of the world due to his father's careful sheltering. His lack of experience makes him easy to trick. He is eager to please, and likes to keep everyone around him happy. Like his father, he is protective of his loved ones, but without his father's paranoia. Frostfoot's stories of proud, whimsical heroes have lead him to be proud and whimsical himself, but still being a child, he has much recklessness to go along with it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Move Set: -Roost (Flying): The user lands and rests its body. It restores the user's HP by up to half of its max HP.
-Aerial Ace (Flying) (learned from his dad!):  The user confounds the target with speed, then slashes. This attack never misses.
-Ancient Power (Rock): The user attacks with a prehistoric power. It may also raise all the user's stats at once.
-Bulldoze (Ground): The user strikes everything around it by stomping down on the ground. This lowers the Speed stat of those hit.

Equipment: Starter Pack, Silver PackHalloween Pack

FireHoundoom In reply to ??? [2019-05-04 18:47:20 +0000 UTC]

Emma looked around as well. She saw some people walk past the store, but all of them seemed to mind their own business. She then turned around again and looked through the store window again. She saw a shop employee behind the counter inside. Emma didn't know a lot about humans, but he looked like a guy in his mid 20s. She squeezed her face against the glass, trying to see more of the store. "Just some guy behind the counter, but I can't see the entire store from here."  She then remembered how Hugh had escaped from the Pokemon center. "Hmmm... Maybe we can find a window and use that to enter? If we use the front door he might see us."

"A window? Maybe!" Hugh had joined Emma in squeezing his face against the glass, but he didn't really spot anything she couldn't. "Let's try a back window. There's less people in the back, ususally. He peeled his face away from the glass, now fogged up from his breath, and peeked around the corner. No one was there. "Maybe you should take the other side? We can look faster that way." A quick scan of the wall revealed no windows (ones that were low, at least.) The tallest windows were almost at the ceiling, and Hugh didn't trust that'd he be able to make a graceful landing if he tried to crawl through one. Regardless, he tried crawl up the wall to see if he could get a closer look, but the bricks were rather slippery for some reason. Had they applied something to the bricks to make them slippery like that? He wasn't sure. Maybe Emma was having better luck than he was. "Any luck?" he asked, bounding back to the other side.

Emma took a few steps backwards, away from the window. "Sounds like a plan." Emma said as she walked around the building in the opposite direction of Hugh. She ended up seeing more or less the same as Hugh. Slippery bricks and windows placed way out of reach. But then she spotted something a bit more interesting. It was a back door, probably used by the mail service when delivering goods for the store. Emma stood up on her two back feet and grabbed the doorhandle, it was locked. "I found a door, but I think it's locked." she replied. "Do you know how to open these?" she asked.

LuckyGoRabbitFoot In reply to FireHoundoom [2019-05-06 22:23:38 +0000 UTC]

Hugh shook his head. "Not without breaking the lock somehow. I don't know how we'd do that without breaking the whole door, though, and they'd just notice we were coming in that way." Hugh jangled the handle just to see if he could get it to open, but as he expected nothing happened. "Maybe we could wait until someone comes out and sneak in? Or you could use Magnet Rise to get up through a window and open the door from the inside? I dunno."

FireHoundoom In reply to LuckyGoRabbitFoot [2019-05-07 19:49:30 +0000 UTC]

Emma considered the options Hugh suggested. Going inside alone was risky, but the backdoor could no longer be in use for all they knew. Going in through the window might be their best bet. "I can at least take a look I guess." Emma suggested as she started to float up in the air. She flew up to one of the windows and peeked in. It was a small storage room. It looked pretty dull with its grey walls and plain cardboard boxes stacked all over the floor. It was also a few tables here and there with more boxes and miscellaneous items on them. She was too far up to see all the small items, but they could probably find everything they needed here.

She tried to find a way to open the window, but it was locked from the inside. After some thinking she tried to use a claw to cut a whole in the glass. It worked, and she managed to cut a small hole just slightly bigger than her paw. But she wasn't able to grab the glass piece and it fell inside and broke. Emma held her breath, but nothing happened. Emma then stuck her paw inside the hole and attempted to open the window lock. The window clearly hadn't been opened in a while as it was quite hard, but she eventually managed. She opened the window and jumped inside. Magnet Rise slowed her fall somethat, but she still made a "thud" sound when her paws landed on the ground. Emma felt the impact from the jump in her legs, but wasn't hurt.

Emma was just about to find the backdoor when she heard someone coming. She quickly hid behind some boxes when the store employee entered the room. He was clearly searching for something. Emma could hear him bumble something about Focus Bands. He soon spotted the broken glass on the floor and quickly looked up towards the windows. "Those troublemakers must have tossed rocks at my windows again" "Those troublemakers must have tossed rocks at my windows again." he mumbled and rushed over to the backdoor, ready to open the door. Emma got worried. Hugh was expecting her to open the door. "Please be hidden" she thought.

(Feel free to if you want! Note that I'm very very bad at going as long as these posts, you probably won't get something as long in return.)

Hugh was not, in fact, in front of the door. He'd been nervously waiting when the shattering of the glass had startled him, and he'd gone to investigate. He couldn't hear the clerk's mumbling, it was too quiet. He was worried, but he couldn't climb to look in through the windows, and even if he did, he might be spotted. The door jangled from disuse as the man tried to open it. Hugh stayed glued to his spot, unsure of whether to flee or try to slip in. "Whoever broke that window, get out of here before I call the police! I know you're hiding somewhere!" Hugh very quickly decided on "flee." He'd come back for Emma soon, but for now, he ducked into a nearby alley to wait out the worker's temper. He waited there for about a few minutes (though it felt like hours) before daring to sneak back to the store's back. "Emma?" he softly called up to the window. Maybe not the smartest idea, but he had no idea what else to do.

(I don't mind. It's just easier for me to write when I don't have a word limit.)

Emma was sitting in an empty box under one of the tables. She wanted to peek out from her hiding place, but was too scared to do so. She couldn't see the man, but he sounded angry. At least it didn't sound like he had spotted Hugh at least. She heard the man's footsteps walking past her. "Might as well clean up the broken glass, I know I have a broom somewhere." He said to himself. It sounded like he left the room, but Emma wasn't sure. It was quiet. She thought she heard Hugh, but was almost too scared to reply. It could be a trap for all she knew. " Hugh where are you?" she said in a low, whimpering voice.

Hugh couldn't hear Emma, and was starting to get worried. After another few agnonizing seconds, he leapt up and dared to yell for Emma just a little louder than before. He thought about scrabbling up the wall again, but a quick test of the bricks confirmed that they still were, in fact, slippery. It would probably draw too much attention anyways, with how the store owner was on edge, now that he thought about it. He pressed himself to the wall. Maybe it would just barely help him hear better.

FireHoundoom In reply to LuckyGoRabbitFoot [2019-05-10 06:02:43 +0000 UTC]

Emma thought she heard Hugh, but was still too scared to give a louder reply. She slowly peeked out of the cardboard box, but couldn't see anyone. Just a ton of boxes and stacked items. She considered leaping out and hiding in a different box closer to the door, but it was too risky. If Hugh really were close by, she had to show him she was still ok somehow. She looked around the box she was sitting in. Maybe she could find an item of some sort? Emma found a Big Mushroom on the floor and picked it up. She used a claw to carve a little "E" in it, then tossed it in the direction of the door. The odds for Hugh to be in the room was small, but she wasn't strong enough to hurl it out the window. The item didn't make much noise as it hit the floor.

Emma didn't respond again. He didn't dare shout any louder for fear of alerting the shopkeeper. Hugh paced and lashed his tail against the ground while he struggled to think of another idea that just might help him figure out where Emma was. ...Maybe the door? He dared to knock on it. Once. Very quietly. And then again. Very Quietly. He scuttled back to the other side of the wall, peeking over the corner every few seconds just to make sure nothing shifted in the few seconds he didn't miss anything in the few seconds he looked away.

Emma was getting more and more anxious. The fur on her back suddenly standing up when she thought she heard someone knock on one of the doors. She and Hugh should have agreed on a code signal or something, but it was too late now. What if they found her? She had to escape. Emma slowly peeked out of the box. Only boxes and other inanimate objects as far as her eye could see. She took a deep breath before sneaking out of the box, eying the back door. Then she leaped across the floor, threw her front paws on the door-handle and slammed open the door. Opening regular doors was difficult without hands, but wasn't expecting it to make that much noise. She ran to some nearby bushes outside and jumped in. Her heart pumped faster and faster. She then slowly peeked out of the bushes, hoping to spot Hugh. "What on earth was that?" she could hear the human from earlier yelling in the distance.

Hugh jumped back as Emma sprung out of the door, but he couldn't see where she ended up. He had a feeling it was her, but he hadn't seen her clearly when she jumped out. He was about to tentatively call out to her when he heard the human yelling. He'd have to flee again. His mind immediately jumped to the street, but the human was coming closer way too quickly for him to get there in time. Instead, he opted to leap into those bushes, hoping he didn't rustle too much while he was in there.
"Are you stupid teenagers back again?" said the human, throwing open the door that connected the back to the front of the shop. The human picked up the mushroom that was laying on the floor. "Is this some kind of joke?" he yelled, holding it up. Hugh shrank back into the bushes, not yet noticing Emma was there with him.

Emma nearly jumped out of her skin when she noticed something jumping into the bushes she were hiding in. She was ready to give whatever it was a good thunderbolt then she noticed it was Hugh. "Thank Arceus it's you!" She gave him a big hug. "Sorry I wasn't able to open the door for you! I got scared when the human came and ended up hiding in a box." She was almost weeping, mostly out of relief. Luckly the door hadn't been too hard to open from the inside, as you only needed a key for the outside. But the human was outside now, still yelling. "I know you guys can't have gotten far. Show yourselves or I'm calling the Police!" he threatened. Emma looked at Hugh. " What do we do now?" she asked, clearly frightened. The human hadn't seen them yet, but would they even be able to sneak away undetected? And they still needed a lot of stuff from the list.

Hugh gave a quick hugh back. "Glad you're ok. I was worried the police got you. We should probably head home now..." He snapped towards the human's yells, just as frightened as Emma was. His tone quickly shifted from relieved to on edge. "Don't move. Or breathe. If you can help it." He placed a comforting arm on her shoulder. Well, as comforting as he could. He could feel the feathers and fur on his back prickling up, and he had to put a lot of effort into not letting his tail lash.

"Good idea." Emma whispered back. She was a bit disappointed in herself. "If only I had managed to open the door more silently. It wouldn't have been a waste of time." She thought, but going home sounded really nice. She curled into a ball to take up less space, as her yellow coat wasn't the best camouflage. She could hear the human's footsteps getting closer. He didn't seem to notice them yet, but Emma held her breath just in case. "Hey, what are you guys doing?" Emma got startled, but then the footsteps seemed to get further away pretty fast. She peeked out of the bush and saw a flock of murkrow fly into the storage room, tempted by all the shiny stuff lying around.

Hugh joined Emma in peeking through the brush and watched the Murkrow fly in with wide eyes. "Now's our chance, Emma!" His voice was little louder from his restrained excitement. "When the guy's distracted by all these Murkrow, we can escape! And maybe we can steal some of their plunder too, if we're lucky...my rock-type and electric-type moves would take em' down no problem. Though we should get out here for now, probably."

Emma was more than happy to leave the place. She started to sneak out of the bush, away from the store. She heard some excited caw noises as some of the quickest Murkrow had already raided the store. Their beaks overfilled with shiny stuff. Emma took a quick look behind her. She could see the human helplessly trying so shoo the birds away with a broom. So you want to follow them? Emma asked, as it sounded like Hugh could easily defeat them. She had an electric move as well.

"Yeah!" The murkrow were streaming out of the back store room now. As he left the brush, he noticed a Honchkrow leading up the front, a loose bag full of dusk stones hanging from it's beak. Jackpot. "Do you see that, Emma? They have our dusk stones! And maybe some other stuff too, if we're lucky." He sprang in front of Emma, getting excited all over again. "We should probably negotiate before going right for stealing though. Even with super-effective moves, fighting a whole flock isn't the best idea."

Emma agreed, so she tried to get the Honchkrow's attention. "Excuse me! We want to talk about-" The Honchkrow just gave them a quick glare before focusing on his flying route again. He clearly didn't have time to talk right now. Not with his beak full of loot anyways. "Let's follow them and see where they land" Emma suggested as she kept running. The birds were heading deeper into the nearby woods, but the tallest city buildings were still visible in the distance. The flock were flying pretty low so they probably weren't planning on flying too far.

Hugh followed Emma without complaint. "Kinda expected them to be prickly about this. Murkrow are really protective of their stuff." He looked back towards the city, somewhat worried about how far they were. He didn't voice his concerns, though. They'd be fine, he was sure.

FireHoundoom In reply to LuckyGoRabbitFoot [2019-05-16 16:47:48 +0000 UTC]

"Well, no one gave you two permission to follow us." One of the Murkrow cawed. The birds hadn't really paid attention to the two as they were too busy escaping with their loot. But they were close to their nests now, and the fact that Emma and Hugh planned on following them made the birds suspicious. Soon the Murkrow landed in a giant, old tree with a big hole in the middle. Emma could see a shiny necklance hanging out of it. "That's must be the place the Murkrow store their goods" Emma pointed out. "Hey Murkrows!" Emma yelled. "Can we have some Dusk Stones? We need them!" The Murkrow had started tossing their stolen goods into the tree trunk, but stopped when they heard Emma's yelling. "No way! we need the Dusk Stones to evolve" one of them cawed back. Emma didn't like the way the birds were staring at them, ready to strike if the trespassers came too close. "Um, ok." Emma started backing off, clearly intimidated.

Hugh had failed to realize how big the flock was until he was standing right in the clearing. Even with super-effective moves, they might have some trouble should it come to fighting. Judging by how Emma flattened, she had realized it too. Their only choice would be to negotiate. If it worked, anyways. "What if we made a deal?" he asked, trying very, very hard not to make his voice shake. He could see the murkrow peering at him in the trees. He looked at the loot tree instead of at them. Should they need to, they could snatch the dusk stones. They weren't very far down in the trunk yet.

"Deal?" "Do they have any treasure?" "Do they have anything to offer?" The many murkrow murmured in the trees. If they didn't have most of the bird's attention, they did now. Emma had no idea what Hugh was planning. "Want me to grab something while you distract them?" Emma whispered. They seemed to have the most luck with those kinds of plans." Or do you have something to give them?" The Honchkrow seemed interested. "What do you have to offer? We like shiny things."

"I don't know. Maybe they'd take a few full heals. Or something." He listened to Emma's suggestion wide-eyed. "Plan B." Hugh carefully noted that the Honchrow liked shiny things. "Well, we don't have any shiny things at the moment. But we do have a couple few heals we'd be willing to give you. Or, we can find some shiny things for you." He looked towards Emma. Hopefully she'd be on board.

Emma just nodded as Hugh spoke. The Honchkrow considered the offer. "Sure, but they have to be unused heals, if you guys try to trick us we will tear your eyes out, got it?". "Y-yes" Emma replied, why did she suggest plan B again? The Murkrow with the Dusk Stone bag flew closer, but Honchkrow stopped them. "Don't go too close yet, I want to see the heals first."

Hugh froze at the part about tearing eyes out. What if he'd grabbed used ones on accident? "If they're used, we'll find something else. We haven't checked them yet ourselves." Hopefully the Honchkrow wouldn't mind too much if they were. He placed the bag down with the same care you'd place a ruby, and pushed it towards the Honchkrow.

The Honchkrow quickly opened the bag and inspected it's content. "Hmmm... Shiny bottles, that's a good sign." They closed the bag again. "I would say it's about 10 heals here, so we can give you exactly one Dusk Stone for all of them." The Honchkrow said, still holding the bag. Emma hated to argue, but if they gave away all the heals they still wouldn't have much to show when returning back home. The bird must have noticed Emma's disappointment. "Don't give me that look, it's more than fair. Dusk Stones are so rare they are hardly sold in stores, heals are sold everywhere. So, do we have a deal or not? If not I will still keep a few for wasting my time." "But.. But. That's not fair at all. I think." Emma said quietly. If she wasn't on an important mission she would have gone home a long time ago. But they were so close to finally get what they came for. "We need to discuss this." She said to the Honchkrow before turning to Hugh. "What do we do?" she whispered.

"Weren't the dusk stones on sale?" Hugh whispered. "If we point it out, they might budge. Not sure if it's a good idea though..." The flock was pretty big, and they were surrounded. "Maybe if we intimidated them somehow? But that wouldn't work either. Maybe we should just break the deal..."

"Y-yeah. I want to go home.." Emma was getting less focused the items and more worried about their survival. Emma had the Intimidate ability, but it probably wouldn't be enough. Especially since her legs were shaking so much. "I'm waiting." The Honchkrow tapped it's claws impatiently. Emma tried to hide her fear. "Well, on second thought, I think we needs the heals more, so we will just leave now." The Honchkrow shrugged. "Ok, you may leave, but I never want to see you guys again, got it?" The big bird flew up in the air, carrying the Rocket's bag, but Emma noticed. "Excuse me, but I think that's ours..." The Honchkrow just glared at her "Didn't I tell you to leave?" The Murkrow started chanting. "Go away!" "Leave!" "Vanish!" Emma fur stood out in all directions, she almost looked like a Jolteon. "Yeah, we just want the bag first. Please?" Her piercing glare eying the Honchkrow. Her ability was threatening, but making the birds uneasy backfired. "How dare you talk back to me. Attack!" some of the Murkrow swooped down. "I'm so sorry Hugh!" Emma screamed. Trying to keep the aggressive birds at a distance with Thunderbolt.

"Give that back!" Hugh yelled up. It probably wasn't very convincing though. Before he could move to snatch it back, he realized some of the Murkrow were closing in, and he scrambled to fire off an Ancient Power to knock them back. He quickly realized Ancient Power had such a low PP he couldn't rely on it, and some of the Murkrow were shaking off Emma's intimidate. Emma's Thunderbolt was quickly frying them (when it hit, that was) though. And with how angry the commanders would be if they came back empty-handed, Hugh made the split-second decision to go straight for the king Honchkrow. After all, if their leader fell, they'd step off, right? "Hold on, Emma!" he warned. Instead of using his valuable Ancient Power just yet, he aimed for an Aerial Ace and took a running start to hopefully catch the Honchkrow by surprise.

"Um, ok." Emma didn't know what Hugh was planning, but she already had her hands full thanks to the attacking Murkrow. She saw Hugh aiming for the boss, and tried to keep the Murkrow away from him with her Thunderbolt. Not as effective as she hoped because she constantly had to focus on dodging incoming Pecks and Wing Attacks. Luckly Hugh seemed to hit the Honchkrow, as it was sent a few meters backwards as the attack hit. "What are you lazy goons doing? Protect your boss!" Cawed the Honchkrow. It got harder and harder to see as the sky was filled with Murkrows circling around and over them. Emma was still trying her best to hit all the Murkrow with her Thunderbolt. But even if she hit some of them it was simply too many. "Do you think they will go away if we beat their boss?" Emma yelled to Hugh, not sure if he could hear her in the middle of the chaos.

Hugh could barely hear Emma shouting over the chaos. Hugh was surprised the aerial ace had even worked, if he was going to be honest with himself. And now that the Murkrow were shaking off the Intimidate, they were turning the sky above him black. "What did you think you were going to accomplish here?" the honchkrow asked. Hugh answered by risking another Ancient Power. The rocks flew off in all directions, punching holes in the black curtain of murkrow. It failed to hit the Honchkrow though, as a Murkrow took the hit and knocked themselves out. Even so, Hugh could feel himself getting stronger. Ancient Power's stat boost had kicked in, and even though it wasn't much, every little bit mattered in this kind of fight. He struggled through a wall of Murkrow with a bunch of Aerial Aces, and barely managed to land a solid hit on the Honchkrow. The Honchkrow hit back with a Wing Attack, and even with the stat boosts, the super-effective mood sent him tumbling backwards. In the back of his mind, he hoped Emma wasn't getting similarly mobbed.

Emma did her best to protect herself against all the Murkrow attacks. Every time a Murkrow came close, she tried to counter it's attack with an Ice Fang. Emma had done well so far, but knew she wouldn't be able to take them all out before getting too exhausted. She remembered defending against a Zubat attack when their Hideout was invaded. But back then it was only 20 enemies or so, and she was fighting on home turf. Worst of all she had no idea how Hugh was doing, as she hadn't heard a reply. The battle went on and Emma noticed how a lot of the attacking Murkrow were targeting her tail and right ear. A few even grabbed her tail and lifted her up in the air before she made them let go with another thunderbolt. "Stop trying to steal my jewelry!" She yelled at them, but of course the Murkrow just laughed. Wait... Maybe she could use this to trick the Murkrow? or at least split them up? She ran away deeper into the woods. She didn't like the idea of running away from Hugh without even telling him, but she saw no better option. A large chunk of the Murkrow flock followed right behind her. Hopefully this would make Hugh's job easier. Of at least let him escape if he was hurt.

Hugh pulled himself off the group as quickly as he could and managed to dodge a second wing attack. He felt Murkrow pecking at his back and whipped around as they taunted him. He frustratedly knocked them away with an aerial ace, but there were so many of them it barely made a dent. He suddently watched as a bunch of Murkrow went veering off in another direction, just barely seeing the yellow flash at the front. Emma? he wondered. He was quickly distracted by the honchkrow again, who was shouting at the Murkrow to come back. Hugh took his chance to get a good aerial ace in (though that didn't knock down the honchkrow), and snatch the bag. Using the opening to escape, he ran towards where Emma was like his life depended on it. If that was her, all they'd have to do was use and Ancient Power and Thunderbolt to shake the remaining Murkrow and then weave through the forest to shake the Murkrow. At least, he hoped that would work.

"Maybe this was a bad idea" Emma thought as she ran through the woods. She could hear a lot of cawing and flapping wings right behind her. She felt something peck her tail a few times, making her try to run even faster. She knew Hugh was too far away to help her now if anything bad happened. She looked back as she ran, just to see how many Murkrow were following her. Emma thought she could see Hugh in the distance running towards her. She narrowed her eyes trying to see better, but it wasn't easy with all the Murkrow in the way. She turned around and used Thunderbolt to keep the Murkrow at bay.

Enough murkrow dropped the floor from the thunderbolt that Hugh could see Emma clearly now. With a lot of effort, he managed to aerial ace a line through the to Emma. "Emma, I got the bag!" he said in between breaths. He wasn't sure if it was just him, but the bag felt lighter. "Which way do we go to get out of here?"

"You're asking me??" Every direction looked more or less the same to Emma, just trees as far as her eye could see. She saw how the Murkrow were readying another combined attack. She tried to spot some of the higher buildings in the city they were in earlier. "I can float up and try to spot the city, that might give us an idea of were we are. Can you keep them away from me in the meantime?" She asked Hugh. Emma knew she would be wide open when using Magnet Rise. Especially since the Murkrow were superior in the air.

"I can't promise anything. There's a lot-" he paused to swat away a mukrow that got too close- "-of them, but maybe if you got in tree branches somewhere, they wouldn't reach you as easily." He kept having to pause to shake Murkrow off the bag.  "I think they want the bag back. Maybe you'll be fine? I think I have a couple more Ancient Powers left...". He readied one just in case.

"Ok." Emma started to climb one of the nearby trees. While it wasn't hard thanks to her sharp claws, she still had to use Thunderbolt a few times to keep some of the Murkrow away. Once Emma got close to the top she saw some of the tall buildings in the distance. "I see the town! I think the hideout is south-west form here." She started to climb down again, not wanting to be in the tree longer than necessary.

The murkrow mostly focused their attacks on Hugh, thankfully for Emma, and the stragglers that tried to attack Emma were quickly dispatched by a Thunderbolt. "Great! Let's get out of here!" He started towards the hideout, but suddenly, he heard a rumbling. He looked towards the sky. The rest of the flock. And the Honchkrow. And judging by the squwaking, they were angry. "Now." His voice squeaked and he only waited a few seconds for Emma before he started sprinting away. Of all the times for them to find us...

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Emma couldn't help but scream in fear as they sprinted through the forest. If they could make it back to the hideout, they would be safe. The Honchkrow probably wouldn't pick a fight with an entire organisation just to get some heals. Emma jumped to the side as a murkrow used shadow ball, just barely missing her. While Emma had to dodge incoming attacks from time to time, she made sure she never ran too far away from Hugh. Getting separated now could be fatal with all the angry murkrow chasing them. But it was hard running at top speed with all the trees in the way. The murkrow were mostly flying above the trees, slowly catching up. "W-what do we d-do Hugh?" Emma asked with a quivering voice.

"Uh." Hugh was so shocked by the sudden onslaught of murkrow he didn't bother to scream. "Do you have any thunderbolts left?" Hugh squawked as a shadow ball hit him square in the back. It only took a quick stumble for them to flock to him. He struggled to keep them away from the bag, and one barely made it in to the bag before Hugh could smash them back out again. In the distance, he could see the leader Honchkrow lagging behind where he'd be protected by the other murkrow. "Gethim." Hugh said quickly in between getting dogpiled by the murkrow.

"A few, but I'm getting tired." Emma had also been using Ice Fang to save electricity earlier. She still had a few of each move left. "B-but-" She didn't have time to reply properly. Emma could barely hear what Hugh said before the Murkrow were everywhere again. Even the Honchkrow was getting close now. "Finish them, no mercy!" He commanded. Several Murkrow flew right at her, she had to use Thunderbolt again to prevent them from pecking her. Emma knew what she had to do, and climbed a tall tree with dense branches. "You can't hide!" she heard them caw. She leaped out of the tree, aiming for the Honchkrow. She let out one last Thunderbolt to get rid of some of the Murkrow defending their boss in mid-air. She managed to bite the Honchkrow with her ice fang. Emma used her icy fangs to hold on the Honchkrow's left wing. Not easy as he flapped his other wing like crazy. They were barely above ground now. "Get this thing off me" the Honchkrow said as it used Shadow Ball on Emma. It hit, but Emma still held on to his wing. Barely. She finally had to let go as several Murkrow rushed to help their boss. She had managed to freeze the wing she bit, so he wasn't flying anywhere at least. The idea had worked, but she was starting to run out of ideas and moves to use.

"Yes!" Hugh couldn't help but shout as Emma managed to ensnare the Honchkrow with her teeth. He used aerial ace to weave through the remaining murkrow and get close enough to fire off what was probably his close to last Ancient Power. While he accidentally hit Emma, the Honchkrow screeched and fell to the floor, finally grounded from the attack. Murkrow rushed to their leader's side, but Hugh pried Emma away before they could fully close in. "Sorry." he whispered.

Emma let out a whimper as the rock move hit her. She had been so busy with the Honchkrow she hadn't noticed Hugh attacking the boss as well. It was enough to make her lose balance, and she instinctively curled into a ball as Hugh got her away from the Murkrow. "It's fine. I just want to go home now." Emma said as she took one more look at the bird Pokemon. After they beat the Honchkrow it didn't seem like they would bother them anymore. Emma got up on her feet, she could still walk. Luckily Ancient Power wasn't a ground type move. She started to head back to the hideout.

Hugh breathed a sigh of relief after the cloud of Murkrow vanished into the sky with their leader in their defeated leader in their talons. And promptly felt the exhaustion wash over him. All that trouble for a few full heals is not how he had wanted to spend his afternoon. "Yeah..." he murmured. "You lead the way. I have no sense of direction." He went after Emma on heavy feet. Some murkrow angrily squwaked after them, but none of the birds followed them.

"Can I tell you something?" Emma asked as they kept walking. "I don't really think I deserve to be a silver rank yet. Every time something attacks me I almost faint from fear alone. While some members makes beating entire armies look easy. They say I have potential, they say I got promoted for facing my fears and succeeding. But it's only because I have been paired up with good allies. I don't have Ophelia's strength or Zeta's brains." She looked at Hugh. "Have you ever felt that way? How long have you been a silver rank?"

Emma's question caught Hugh off guard, enough that he stopped walking. "Well, I only got promoted after the battle with Galatic...The commanders said 'my loyalty and assistance during the battle' was what got me promoted. I didn't even do all the fighting...I spent more time then I thought I would helping the hurt recruits. My dad was worried I ranked up before he did, but I was so happy I just ignored him. I guess I worried during the battle..." he stopped talking for a while as he got lost in his own thoughts. "I mean, I'm not the strongest yet, but my dad says I'm only a kid, so...maybe I'll be fine? And he says there's strength in teamwork! Aaaand you have enough brains for the both of us! So if we work together, we'll both be fine!" He felt just a little less tired now, tales of grand adventures filling his mind again. Hopefully Emma felt the same way.

"You really think so?" Emmas face lighted up. "Yeah, teamwork have saved my life many times. That's why I like this organisation. Before I joined I was alone in this world." Emma frowned a bit just thinking about it. But she didn't want the conversation to take a negative turn. They had escaped the shop and a flock of Murkrow today, they should celebrate. "I never thought I would say this, but I kind of look forward to my next mission. It's a great way to meet new friends!" She smiled. "Oh! I bet we will get even more loot next time!" Emma would have jumped around if she wasn't so tired.

"Yeah! We'll send those murkrow running." He would have also been jumping around, more out of excitement that his pep talk had actually worked than beating the Murkrow. "We'll need to rest first though." His shoulders slumped against his will. "I'm...a little more tired than I thought." Despite this, he'd started a nice, slow walk again.
