This guy is actually not that new--I was hoping to introduce him with a full body sketch I did years ago, but I damn well lost that drawing along with an entire folder full of my earliest drawings. It's somewhere around here...Anyway, This is Alexander and he is a gender bent version of Xandra or at least was based on that idea.
Alexander is the core name for Xandra; Xandra is a short version of the female variant for the same name. Initially, Alexander is not recognizable because he has a tendency to dye his auburn hair jet black. He has the same hair that Xandra has just thicker, straighter, and a bit shorter. So if you took the curl out of Xandra's hair, they'd look more alike.

Um...well, he should be the same person as Xandra is, just with a gender change, so he should actually have the same spunky personality. But along the way, I thought about giving him his own personality. But how to explain it? One idea I had was that it was just Xandra pretending to be a guy but without imitating someone else and that's how he was created--he was intitally just a disguise for some stupid story but she tried to act differently than what she normally does and that's how he ended up having his own personality. I guess a better idea might be to say he's Xandra from an alternate reality which means they wont necessarily be identicle. There's an episode of Space Dandy about different versions of the main characters from alternate universes and each version was different and unique to our version of Dandy and I loved that Idea. I have seen this multiverse idea played out once before in Project A-ko but the characters were the exact same in each version and the rivalry between the girls was the same, it was just their lives and jobs that were different, so Dandy actually made the idea more fun and interesting by making each verison very different, althought some did have similar personality traits and others were so different you would have have known it was Dandy but as Honey put it, they was just something very Dandy about all of them. (That episode was entitled "I can't be the only one, baby!" ep.14. Watch it, it's a fun wacky space adventure and you're never lost in the story since each episode is it's own story.)

But the truth is if I want to have a male mascot aside from Xandra, I dont think I really have to bust my head over making a story for him. At least not right away.

I at least have some things worked out, though not prefectly. In terms of differences, Alexander likes dying his hair black--he thinks it makes him more "earthy". He also has a lighter complexion, and deer antlers much like Xandra's great Grandfather, only smaller due to his young age. Being male, he is a little bit taller than Xandra. He is a little quieter and a little less restless, and has a more simple and upfront approach with people where as Xandra would probably spy on people and take notes before getting their attention. But Like Xandra, he still tries his best to help people with any skills he has. And like Xandra, he does not like people trying to shut down his personal freedoms, but takes a more passivie resistive approach and it takes more prodding to get a bigger response out of him than it would for Xandra--her idea of resisting is a bit less passive. That's not to say she's overreactive, but she is quite vocal about what she doesn't like.

As for similarities, Both Alexander and Xandra sport deer ears, inherited from Great Grandfather, and Heterochormia inherited from their father, though the color in Alexander's eye is a bit darker--he was supposed to be a gender bent version of Xandra after all, so some elements stayed the same like the eyes and ears. And of course, they both have Auburn hair similar to their mother's hair color (Alexander just chooses to change the color with hair dye.) And Like Xandra, he has a great curiosity to travel and see new places and meet new people. Since they both basically have the same story of wandering, traveling, and making endless journeies into unknown worlds, both are pretty good at taking care of themselves.

I still don't know how to put his personal story together, Hell, Im still struggling to do that with Xandra's story and I've had her for years! I don't know if he should be his own character, of just keep maintaining that he's a gender bent that simply grew his own individual quirks and traits. Either way I would like to draw him with Xandra sometimes or on his own. So just like Xandra is my persona, consider Alexander my male mascot for my Gallery, and expect to see him in a few upcoming parodies.

So, uh...yeah, this is Alexander and he will now be residing in my gallery. People do draw Xandra as gift art for me, which I really love and appreciate , so for Alexander, if he ever gets to star in gift art--keeping my fingers crossed!--either version of his hair is acceptable, though he prefer his hair dyed dark.
