Another long over due project. This was actually meant to be a conversational piece.

You see, back in 2016 there was, uh...a certain very unpleasant individual who's notoriaty was such that a parade of well earned rants followed her for a long time. One of her noted behaviors was dropping in like a bat out of hell on random people and hypocritically harassing them on their art and profile for the same supposed offenses that she herself did. And one of them that was pointed out by ranters was chewing out this poor unsuspecting person for coloring over screencaps, even though she not only did it herself, but asked any and every friend she had to make art of her character using screencaps of Rouge, and Im talking many, MANY pieces of well done but undeserved screencap art.

And the point of that story was, one, it was the first time screencap art was called to my attention. I dont think i ever heard of screencap art before that point because i was not yet reunited with the sonic fandom, and when i was part of the sonic fandom, i was just one small kid collecting comics and playing the games, and not connecting with people through the internet just yet. And i didnt dive back into the sonic fandom until After Ms. Bully-Hypocrite was banned. I made Frisk soon after the aforementioned banishment. Thats him pictured here.

And two, after thinking about it, i couldnt figure out what was wrong with making art of your character with screencaps, and thats the question I've always wanted to ask. I also meant to try doing some screencap art at least once, and then seeing if anyone would answer the question in the comments.

Is there something wrong with coloring over screencaps?

For the life of me, the best i can figure is that maybe some people consider it like theft. Is it because no one credits the screencap? Or maybe some people treat it like the people who dont like art that uses bases, because.....uh, i dont know, i dont know why they dont like using bases either. Maybe its seeing as lazy? Like using bases is like taking a short cut instead of using your own natural skill alone and maybe people who dont like screencap art see it the same way? Thats the best i got in terms of an answer but i thought maybe someone else could enlighten me a little bit. But my third and most likely accurate guess was that it all just an over reaction (which it was) on some bratty drama queen's part, considering her over reaction to everything you can think of, and no one actually has a problem with screencap art.

But that question, i thought about it for a long time. And it Spurred me to try making some Sonic X Screencap art of my own. So if no one answers my question or imparts their own opinion or idea, at least it gave me a cute new--okay--not new piece of art of Frisk.
