One final comic experiment for 2010!

*Season 6 SPOILER WARNING! Stop reading if you haven't watched the mid-season finale of Supernatural.*

It’s a bittersweet victory. Dean has his Sammy back, but at what price?

Well, it looks like Sam got his soul back at the end of episode 11. And because he didn’t sleep for a year and a half while he was soulless, I decided to make a comic about Sam finally getting some sleep like a normal human being. I would imagine Dean is relieved that RoboSam is gone but also worried about the state of his little brother’s soul. Why else would he be awake at 5:30am?

Song lyrics scribbled throughout the motel room (and on Dean’s shirt) are bits and pieces from ‘Lullaby’ by Assemblage 23.
I know that not all monitors are calibrated the same, so here are the lyrics in case you can’t read them:

(panel 1)
May you find solace in the gentle arms of sleep
Despite the wolves outside your door

(panel 2)
In time you will see them all as harmless
And their idle threats easy to ignore

(panel 3)
And if ever fate should choose to smite you
Stand your ground, never walk away

Don't get buried in its decay

This comic was painted entirely in Photoshop 6 using a Wacom graphire 3 pen tablet. Various screencaps from the show and my own stock photography were used as references.
