Thoughts: Beyond the darkness of the underground, yet more practice of W.D. Gaster, of Undertale.Taken from a few pages of sketchbook content, the topic of Gaster leaves me wondering at the state of salvation for beings of inherently frail Soul, or of what bastion of knowledge or seeking could ever hold up against the tides of bleak Oblivion. Was Gaster a person moved by wonder and curiosity? ... Or did the horrible knowledge found in his studies show him the true faces of the greater forces beyond?More tragic still, to have such a brilliant mind fragmented across disparate realities - completely incohesive and unknown to nigh everyone.

So many fantastic expressions! :0 How do you do it? The dotted lines representing fragmentation or some such derezzing-action (I think) are quite the detail! I almost mistook them for a digital 'brush' except for when I read the description above. Great work!

It feels like forever since I worked on these. I can't say I've ever quite managed to settle my expressiveness for Gaster. While the 'Recursive Tangent' materials have him rather stoic and grumpy for the first while (hmm, reminds me of a certain Program), eventually he does open up and gain some personable traits - but just how to visually treat those is not clear to me. Yet.Further, Gaster does also end up in a partially... Decoherent state in said ideas, and getting a grasp on just how to depict those is yet another difficulty. Gaster is a great vehicle for learning, clearly!(Not to mention there is a curious question over just how Monsters sustain injury, and what parallels can be made to Programs, too!)
