Description My rendition of Kylo Ren, with a more sinister look! I really hope that he will be a full fledged Sith Lord and bring despair to the Star Wars universe.

With identical brushstrokes to the other artwork, so much so that it looks more like the other artwork than the reference? And the same stylized colours that the artist added in the same areas? And fragments of where you've painted over hairs in the background? Also parts of the old hairstyle showing through his hair? With blue eyes even though his eyes aren't blue, and an unchanged face of a woman aside from the eyebrows and chin?

I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt but it all seems very strange

Hmm, let me say this just once, politely.

Firstly, I have no need to validate this just base on your accusation. I did paint this with the artist and the model's reference, and have no need to provide step by step image just to provide justification just because you accuse me of tracing. Copying and referencing a portrait is not hard.

The artist copy a model pixel by pixel, same pose and all and people commend on it, I followed the same image and I get accused for tracing? Maybe you could go check his Emma Watson image.

Same stylised colors? Why not? the artist has a nice sense of colors. Old hairstyle? C'mon, the artist copied exactly the same hairstyle, I drew a new hairstyle with their reference and I get called for tracing again? His eyes aren't blue? This is my representation of Kylo Ren, do I have to change it to red eyes to make it seem authentic? I would have reference Adam Driver to make it authentic.

Right, when you say eye brows and chin, eyebrows because I felt the eye brows are to feminine (smooth), wrong position, wrong expression, so gotta do a new one. And the chin, and the lips, and the shirt and ears and eyes. Because those need to be changed. And apparently, I can paint those but not the face. Just for the info, there is no reference for those things.

Guess I might sound a bit rude here, so apologies beforehand. But the point is, try not to nitpick others work and accuse of them of tracing, especially when it has source from model's photos, then you try to argue it some more. And putting those images right in the comments section like you have some evidence. In fact I am going to leave it here for people to see, because I have no need to hide it. It is not polite even if you don't mean to sound rude. You should go and try one, with a low res image, trace and produce something new in high res, then perhaps you'll understand better.

It's just that when I see an artwork by someone that looks identical to another artwork more so than the reference image, and the questionable art seems to be the first artwork in this style in their gallery I can't help but think "huh.". I wouldn't go pointing it out just because they have the same reference image, I mean I've overlayed them back and forth and it's identical to the other drawing down to the eyelash but not identical to the reference.

I know it's not exactly polite but I'm not sure what else you're supposed to do in that situation, either have an uncomfortable chat with the artist or possibly let someone steal art. If it turns out it's just a really weird coincidence then yeah my bad but I'd rather be safe than sorry

I wouldn't call that "sinister".
Rather, way better looking and almost androgynous.
He wishes he looked like this.
