Yeaahh Derpy's parents, Dandy Doo and Daisy Hooves
Attention, attention, they are fan made.

Dandy Doo comes from a rich pegasus family and was very materialistic and vain before he met his future wife. After the two met, Dandy changed, or rather started to become his real self. He is a very funny guy, not to serious, who cares a lot about family and would do everything for them. Daisy Hooves was the first mare to ever make him laugh, just with being clumsy. She wasn't as beautiful or talented as the mares his parents advised him to marry, but she was far more fun and fascinating. He isn't as materialistic as he was in the past anymore, but does have a soft spot for money. Daisy doesn't care about money and wealth, she is a bubbly earth pony, always happy and liked by everypony. She works for a very small bakery as their head (and only) deliverer. She isn't poor at all, still her family in law doesn't hesitate to treat her as a minority. Her and Derpy are very much alike. She doesn't share the cross-eyes with her daughter, but is in fact a mute and was bullied for it trough her whole youth. She managed to stay strong and also tried her best to raise her daughter the same way. When Derpy was young, Daisy did everything to protect her daughter from all the bullying, even from her own family in law. As you can guess, this wasn't very easy without a voice. If she was done with her daily round around the town, she never forgot to take some fresh baked muffins home for her. This was the least she could do to make her daughter smile.

Why I choose a pegasus and an earth pony. From the first thought about Derpy parents I imagined one being very odd and the other almost the complete opposite. Both very different, but very caring for their daughter no matter what. Very quickly it became her mother who shared the most similarities with her, personality and job wise. I didn't wanted her to be to similar so I didn't made her a pegasus, her father became on. I also liked the picture of him being a snob until he meets Derpy's mom, were after he becomes who he truly is behind the mask of vanity. Of course his family, the ones who thought him to act like this disliked his change. Earth ponies are often treated as minorities, so also because of this I made her mother one and not her father. A unicorn just didn't fitted her (a pegasus neither to be honest), I think Daisy would also be very happy without magic and I don't think she really needs a horn. Also she masters some quite well cooking skills who fit the earth pony race the best.

Derpy was raised on both land and in the sky. Her father is not a very skilled flyer, and her mother is very clumsy, that combined creates a clumsy flyer
I'm still guessing Dandy's special talent and cutie mark. Daisy's special talent isn't sure to. For her cutie mark I thought about a broken flowerpot or something, a slight nod to her clumsiness
