Description
A fansketch of the Godzilla franchise; this one shows the flying-lizard Kaiju Varan from the 1958 film Varan/Varan the Unbelievable. In his film debut, Varan was disturbed and attacked the village that worshipped and feared him. Varan then goes to the city to cause considerable damage. In the final conflict, the JSDF launched flares into the sky to distract the Kaiju. Foolishly, Varan swallows the flares, according to the JSDF’s plan. After Varan swallowed the flares, the first bomb exploded inside Varan, causing him to become weak. Varan limped back into the ocean and disappeared beneath the waves before the second bomb exploded, producing a small mushroom cloud over the water. The JSDF then finally declared the creature dead. In the 1968 film Destroy All Monsters taking place in the futuristic timeline of 1999, an infantile Varan was brought to Monsterland to live with the other Kaiju in peace. Varan has the attributes of a flying-lizard, but the size is at a different league. Varan is considered a triphibian, meaning he can travel on land, in water, and the sky. In the 2007 video game Godzilla Unleashed, Varan possesses a beam attack from the mouth.
