Hello again,

For this drawing, I’m paying tribute to the DIC show, The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Unlike The Super Mario Bros Super Show or The Legend of Zelda shows which are story based, this show is a lot like Looney Tunes, where slapstick comedy is more commonly the norm. This show is so surreal, that just about anything you imagine, can happen in this show.

I’m a sucker for slapstick comedy and this show has a lot of it. I love Long John Baldry’s role as Dr. Ivo Robotnik. I find him extremely hilarious with his over the top hammy performance of the character. The robot sidekicks are a lot of fun too. Scratch and Grounder do get some funny lines. They also receive some over the top cartoon violence on the show, which is real funny to watch as well. For me, the elaborate cartoon traps that Scratch and Grounder use to catch Sonic in the desert, remind me a lot of the Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner cartoons. Sonic and Tails are a lot of fun too, though I will admit, I can’t hear Sonic’s voice without also hearing Steve Urkel from Family Matters.

Anyway, I enjoy this this show and I hope this picture is a nice small tribute to it.
