Oh this made me think of a short story. Hope you don't mind. Also, the language might get a little strong in here so I apologize in advance for this. Okay, here we go:
Rain was pattering steadily against the roof. Shadow the Hedgehog sat almost motionless in his chair, listening to the ticking of the clock on the opposite wall. It was nearly eleven in the evening. Shadow's ears twitched periodically, the only sign of life given by his otherwise rigid posture. He was surprised that the silence had lasted for this long. Is he even awake? he wondered. Perhaps I didn't measure the dose properly. Calmly, he began neatly folding his newspaper. However, as he made to stand up his patience was finally rewarded.
THUMP.
He's finally awake then, Shadow thought with satisfaction. Took him long enough. He stood up, and walked to his bedroom. Already, he could hear the creaking of the chair as his prize strained at the ropes. Shadow smirked. How pathetic. He'll never learn.
"Struggle as much as you like," he said smugly as he opened the door. "It won't matter to me if you get rope burns."
He stood over Sonic, grinning. His blue rival was sprawled on the floor on his stomach; wrists and ankles tied securely together. He glowered up from the ground; emerald eyes flashing with suppressed rage.
"Hmm."
Still smiling, Shadow set his coffee on the floor and heaved Sonic back into the chair. As he knelt to make sure his victim was properly bound to his seat, Sonic seized his opportunity, kicking the mug straight at Shadow's face. Shadow jerked backward; shielding his face as the scalding liquid made contact with him. The cup shattered upon hitting the ground, leaving shards of glass amidst a dark stain on the floor. By then, Shadow had regained his composure. Sonic was staring up at him, that cocky smile plastered on his face.
"Oh...so you want to go about this the hard way, do you?" Shadow said coolly. "You know, I wasn't immediately planning on going to Stage 3 but seeing as you're clearly not interested in taking this slowly..." He grabbed the rope now hanging loosely around Sonic's legs and wound it tightly around Sonic's neck. The blue hedgehog's expression changed from arrogance to one mingled with panic and defiance when Shadow pulled the chords tight from both sides. The rough fibers cut into Sonic's neck, and breathing became a struggle as he stared helplessly into Shadow's cold red eyes. "I can see there's no point in trying to persuade you with words. Not that either of us really cared for conversation anyway," he added with a chuckle.
Just as Sonic opened his mouth to utter a retort, Shadow let go. The chair and Sonic toppled to the floor, and he tasted blood as the side of his face hit the hard floor. Dazed and feeling new bruises forming, Sonic lay still, breathing hard. Something flickered in the corner of his eye. Wearily he turned his head, and his eyes widened when he saw the large shard of glass in Shadow's hand. He braced himself, but even so the pain was hard to bear. Shadow cut deep, but was careful not to sever any arteries. It was important he kept Sonic alive until otherwise was said. Besides, he reasoned with a grim snicker. Pain is a powerful motivator. Finished, he tossed the now bloody shard away.
"Now," he said, picking up the Chaos Emerald from the table and grinning maliciously at his hostage. "Where are the rest of your friends hiding?"
The Chaos Emerald blazed red. Sonic turned his head away, and spat blood from his mouth. "If you think I'd sell my friends out to save my own skin from you fuckers, you're wrong."
"I was hoping you'd say that," Shadow answered. "Oh, dear me, Sonic the Hedgehog. This is going to be so much fun. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
END.
(P.S.: I know that creepy laugh at the end was unnecessary but I thought it fit the moment well. XD)

So...sonic was kidnapped by shadow and tied down in a chair in his basement. Sonic wanted the chaos emerald or something? Sonic fell and shadow went down and picked him up but then he kicked the mug of coffee in his face and glass has shattered everywhere (along with Shadow's delicious coffee). Sonic said something angrily to him. Shadow then strangled him with rope and kicked him. Then cut him with a piece of glass. He then gave him the emerald out of pity and hatred? Is that wrong or right or am I stupid?
