Description Testing my new lens - Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 OS HSM. I like it from wide open on. This little squirrel was so kind and posed for me today

It's no problem . I've used many different lenses in the past, Tamron 200-500mm, Canon 70-300, Canon 70-200 etc... in the last 2 months or so I've upgraded to Canon EF 100-400mm f/4,5-5,6L IS USM and Sigma EX 70-200mm f/2.8 OS HSM lens. The first is for the extra reach and the second one for low light situations. They both do great on the Canon 5D Mark III for my needs. But the most important thing is to capture the right moment as I was lucky to do so with this photo

thank you for not being a dick about my question. I've come across few who have been that way.
but anyway, I'll have to look into the lenses that are similar to those for a Nikon, which is what i have.
I'll agree with you on that last part about "capturing at the right moment" with mammals it can get difficult.

Don't know why someone would make a fuss about it, but okay, some people are like that. I believe a good option is the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED if you do not take photos in extreme lowlight situation (you can always you as tripod though for a static subject) or maybe a bit cheaper AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR if you use DX format. Or the even a cheaper option such as AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED. I've never used any of them so I cannot say to which is the best. Depends on what you need it for. There are also Tamron 70-300s and Sigmas 70-300. A lot of offerings (i like talking about lenses so you got me there ).

Indeed, it can get difficult and many times you can easily fail.. but when it all works out then it's all worth it.
