(Right) Ruhkar Grent was a tiefling child born to a young mother unprepared for his arrival. Like many tiefling children, he was left to grow up in an orphanage. When he reached his teens, Ruhkar set out on his own to try to make a living for himself. As most reputable businesses refused to hire anyone with horns, Ruhkar ended up working for a local thieves' guild. His usual assignment was to transport goods back and forth along quiet rural roads. During one such trip, his carriage was attacked and robbed. Ruhkar was beaten severely and left for dead in a ditch. When he opened his eyes again, he was greeted by kind, friendly faces to claimed to be holy servants of the Goddess of Hope and Redemption. They nursed the tiefling back to health, and encouraged him not to give up on himself. Ruhkar became a devoted worshipper, and was given a new name by his Goddess. Now known as Thaddeus Korthines, he serves as a paladin and fights for the liberation of his city.

(Left) The Other Ruhkar also grew up sad and alone, ostracized from most of society because of his tiefling blood. He too became a transporter for illegal goods. His life's path took a different turn when his carriage was attacked by bandits from a rival crime family. Tired and frustrated from his long journey, Ruhkar's anger burst forth to the surface when his enemies tried to attack him. He raged, lashed out, and managed to beat every one of the men into bloody unconsciousness. When Ruhkar arrived at his destination with the goods still intact, he was rewarded and given a promotion. Ruhkar became one of his employer's personal enforcers. He prowls late at night, visiting those who have displeased his boss by refusing to pay debts and ensuring that the money is collected. Known for his cold demeanor and ruthlessness, Ruhkar is feared throughout his city.
