This is the fifth entry in my This Never Happened series. The idea behind this is to depict a scenario that never actually took place. For example, I might show fantasy characters in modern situations. Or perhaps a character might change professions, or marry someone other than their canon romantic partner. Maybe I could even pair two characters together who have never actually met! It's one of those What If? type of things.

In the roleplaying I do with my husband skullard we have about a hundred original characters. We've been playing and writing together for more than a decade. Our characters do many interesting things, but since they live in a fantasy setting, there's many modern situations that they'd never have the chance to experience.

Fuko needed some pocket money, so she got a job in an office! Fuko is a good, hard and honest worker, but she was a little... difficult to be around. Although cheerful, enthusiastic and friendly, Fuko had the habit of singing along loudly to songs in her head, spinning around in her chair, pasting bright pink Post-Its onto everything and occasionally eating everyone's lunches. She couldn't help it... all that chair spinning made her hungry. The boss didn't want to fire Fuko, but since her co-workers were frustrated, Fuko was banished to the basement to work in the filing room.

Surprisingly, Fuko absolutely adored her new assignment and began taking her responsibilities seriously. VERY seriously. In fact, she may have gone a little mad with power.

What would it be like if Fuko were in charge of the file room at an office building?

This never happened. It never will. But it did today.

"You need the files for the Loringham case? Hmm... okay, Fuko will get them for you. What? NO! NO! You don't touch Fuko's cabinets! Fuko will get the folder for you! Why?! Because Fuko is in charge of the cabinets! Fuko is the only one who can touch the files, that's Fuko's important job! See all the many drawers? They contain the precious files, you know. Each one is super interesting and full of information! Fuko has been assigned to protect them. Fuko will make sure they are never misplaced and never lost. Fuko will guard these files, guard them with her life! No one except Fuko will touch them! You could probably not even find the folder on the Loringham case anyway. All the folders are in a special order. The order of Alphabeticalness! Fuko knows that system inside out. Fuko has never misfiled anything, not once, not one time! Did you catch Fuko's bad movie reference there? Yes? GOOD! Now take this file and get out of Fuko's filing room! Have it back by 4:15pm, or the wrath of Fuko will be upon you!! Oh, and say hi to Cathy in Accounting for Fuko, okay?" - Fuko Fushimi, junior file-clerk
