I know a lot of people didn't like the movies, but i really liked the Children of Dune mini-series Syfy did.

I think the two series they did are decent if a bit lacking in the visual department.
David Lynch's Dune film has, I think, some really good design elements and visual ideas. It's a bit of a mess story-wise though.#

I honestly loved David Lynch, it was darker then the other series, which seemed much more fitting in my mind. (Though...black suits, in the desert? Lol.) I had seen that one, several times, before reading any of the books. The story is definitely a mess in it, i agree.

I think it's just a bit hard to bring such an epic story to the screen, especially given it's 90% set in a huge desert that is all yellow.
Kind of easier to take an artistic approach to it.
