This is an awesome tutorial.
If you don't mind me asking, what sort of font did you use when descirbing the steps?

It has a very clean look to it. I know it's not arial, but its almost too straight to be Trebuchet.

yeah, it's my favourite font - Myriad Comes with Photoshop. Photoshop CS2 comes with Myriad Pro so it has lots of different weights, which is cool. Glad you liked the tutorial

Sure did and I found that putting a drop shadow gives a different feel to the texture. Much appreciate the sharing and caring way you put these clear tip together.

etc-etc-etc [2005-07-21 07:38:05 +0000 UTC]

Yaaaaa awesome!

I've been texturising my text in a different way, and it takes much longer and doesn't suit the background as much. I've been making a text layer, saving it as a jpeg then reopening it and cutting into it with grungy brush erasers. I then select all the text that's left and dump it on the background layer.

This is SO much better though, because it actually brings elements from the background layer to the text - so they fit! I was wondering how on earth you'd been doing that!

This one is up there with the Digital Polariser for me - an awesome tutorial and technique.

You are the Photoshop Master!

That looks cool. I probably have to do it step-by-step to understand it, though, imagining is a bit hard.

Thank you for this!

Very nice, I like these! Even the simple things like text texture can add so much character to things.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lukeroberts In reply to BenBlood [2005-07-21 06:20:46 +0000 UTC]

Very true. Even a slight texture can give it character. I think it's better when the texture is more subtle actually

Thanks luke for the previous tut u send it to me...this one has the same problem. Why I can't save it?(

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lukeroberts In reply to oroles [2005-07-21 06:22:48 +0000 UTC]

i'm not sure why you can't. Maybe it's because it is a PNG file? That's the only difference between this and the majority of other deviations. It is strange though. Would you like me to send this one to you too?

lukeroberts In reply to SETTEZ [2005-07-21 06:33:59 +0000 UTC]

haha well, that's why i'm making them. I remember when i was learning Photoshop, it's annoying when tutorials miss something or take things for granted that you know them. I want mine to be accessible to anyone, even if you've never used Photoshop before, but to also be useful to people who might know a lot already
