Agrias Oaks from Final Fantasy TacticsThis is part 11/11 of my little Final Fantasy tribute project. For those who still don't know FF has it's 25th anniversary this year ;3
Heh, last part already >3
Hope you didn't have any weird ideas after last times game was FFX, I think I've stated that enough times what I think about all other FF games after X ;3 (with even X being borderline)... FF Tactics on the other hand, that was one of my most favourite parts ^^
Part of why I live it so much were the all the memorable characters, even if most of 'em got kinda cast aside after their role in the main events "ended" (though I heard there are many new events with 'em in the PSP and iphone remakes), and Agrias was sadly one of those charas, the ever so gorgeous female holy knight had a rather important role in the prologue and second chapter, but later her only role was mere "party member" with no role in any serious events, kinda sad considering she was a really fleshed out chara with an interesting personality.
Well, though Saber fans might find it amusing that she seems to be a long-lost sister of Agrias or something, as their design is very similar and they have an almost identical personality >D

I instantly recognised her in the thumbnail, even though I could only see a dark silhouette. Which means you did a good job capturing her.
She's my favourite character in FFT, and I wish she (along with the game she's in) got more love, too. c:

Hehehe, good to know, I really wanted to make her look good, cause of the obscurity of the game and character, she doesn't get that much fanarts
And like I said in the artist comment, she along with other charas got some new events later in the game in the PSP/iphone remake, she even got herself an admirer, namely Mustadio, who appears to have feelings for her (not surprising, who in their right mind wouldn't go for such a hottie >3).
The only downside of the remake is that the names got re-translated... or in other words, turned into utter crap... the game was set in an European-inspired, fantasyish world, hence the names sounded European or fantasy'ish, while now they're all just a crapload of poor Engrish...

I know this since I actually own a copy for the PSP.
When I got the extra scene with Mustadio, at first I was like "What?", because it seemed to be completely out of the blue, but shortly after I grew to be a hardcore Mustadio/Agrias shipper. XD
I actually prefer the new translation to the old one, though. To me, it gives the game a different atmosphere that I happen to like more.
But then again, it's probably the result of me not being used to English and not sensing style.

Heh, I'd say it's more like you got used to the new names... kinda normal when you know the post-change version. I aint saying they're "bad", more like "anti-climatic".
FFT was very climatic and memorable, so it's downright wrong when all names are suddenly Engrish... sound like something a no-life weeabo would write... changes like Gaff into Goffard, Olan into Orran or Algus into Argath are like changing Bilbo into Birubo or Legolas into Regorasu... names that don't exactly fit the setting.
Similar how the English version of Shaman King looked, where Hao was turned into Zeke, Ryu was turned into Rio or Manta into Morty, because the names "had to be changes, because when there are too many characters with japanese names, American viewers have trouble "bonding" with them"... but that was made by a separate company, while the FFT changes were made by the same one...
Or even better, I dunno if you liked FF7 or not, but I wonder how would you like to know how all the characters were meant to be called in the American version (cause yes, each and every of the main characters was meant to have their name changed in the English version), or better yet, how the Ace Attorney characters were meant to be renamed in the Englisgh version (but after Capcom of America screwed up Sengoku Basara's translation, Capcom of Japan began to check their translations VERY carefully...).

Cloud - Chris, Tifa - Brittany, Cid - Claus, Sephiroth - Sebastian, and my personal "favourite", Red XIII - Poochie...
This is so idiotic it doesn't even deserve to be graced by a facepalm... and those aren't all of them of course, just a few examples...
As to how I got such info, well, lets just say it's one of those "I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy..." cases >3 or in other words, I am an active video game fan long enough to know certain people who get such info, info that does not go into the vast internet mainly because many "fans" will discard it as a rumor or trolling just because "they know better". And part of how I still get such info is that I do not reveal my source openly just like that ;3

Absolutely love this piece. Her armor is gorgeous, and in your style, it is just that much better. Great job.
