I'm left speechless. I thought that the girl was dreaming about the city. And that because of the continuous buildings that are being built everyday, she can't clearly see the beauty of nature (sunset, the moon and such) anymore. Her life seems rushed as her everyday life goes so quickly and she wants to stop time and shove all the stress (yes that's the word I was looking for) away and look up to the day/night sky. I'm not so sure about the boxes around her, I thought it was to add some detail around her.

There,,, that's what I thought...
and I wrote such a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong thought from my not my head

I love this.

This drawing is beautiful. The shading is perfect and I love all the different interpretations people have of it. I personally like all of them!
I also think the "messy" scanner gives it an interesting twist, especially because it highlights the texture of the paper !

Aww thanks
The original actually looks much better though, but its true, the scanner did put it into a different light

Looks great! ^^
For me it somehow looks like that blocks buildings in cities... and sun... and that girl is falling in front of one, sick of all this not-caring city... .3.
(yes, I'm weirdo xD)

Lukwarm In reply to KagamisShiroi [2012-04-06 09:24:51 +0000 UTC]

Those are infact meant to be skyscrapers
one of the meanings I attached to this was someone commiting suicide and them seeing the skyline and the sun as the last thing before hitting the ground
The squares being windows~
That being said, i also have 5 other meanings
But spot on for picking that up

I can definitely see meaning in this.

thank you
hahaha, i have a habit of drawing things small, so when i scan it you can see the texture and detail
The original drawing is only 7 cm tall

I have too many personal meanings for this

Lukwarm In reply to grey-shard [2012-04-06 05:40:20 +0000 UTC]

Thank you
Out of curiosity, may I ask how you interpretted this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

grey-shard In reply to Lukwarm [2012-04-06 10:57:22 +0000 UTC]

your given title somehow points to pollution, but since you asked, i do have a different interpretation lolz

i when saw this, the first interpretation i have is about a city girl's life. the city buildings are are irregular and they look like swaying which i think gives confusion and stress to the girl. the boxes surrounding the girl's head could mean work or responsibilities that stresses the girl until her sleep. and those--i'm not sure if it's fire or smoke that are behind those buildings but those fire-like shadows just make me think of heat, and a life that lacks relaxation. The buildings also seems like they are bended to give way for the moon, which i suppose that night would be the girl's only rest, and that full moon is what can only relax the girl's state of mind.

lolz sorry for the long interpretation
now that i've think of it, this one is good for literary backgrounds

Lukwarm In reply to grey-shard [2012-04-06 11:04:44 +0000 UTC]

oh my
That is an amazing interpretation!
yes very story inspiring

I was going along the lines of the girl commiting suicide
of a skyscraper due to social pressures, and she watches
the windows pass her by on the way down, and looking up
a final time she sees the skyline and the sun/moon.

My secondary meaning is that the skyscrapers can also
be those soul papers the japanese beleive fly to heaven after death

but i like yours way better

grey-shard In reply to Lukwarm [2012-04-06 13:31:11 +0000 UTC]

lolz very much flattered
But i wouldn't have that interpretation
if not also with the drawing

and i don't do much of interpretative drawings,
so these kinds of drawings really catch my attention

Actually the "messy" effect scanning did to it, makes it more interesting, I think that said, if you coloured this in I think it's applicable to the Colour-Scheme group's Challenge # 10 [link]

Well anywho, just a little idea

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lukwarm In reply to Roxyielle [2012-04-06 05:28:23 +0000 UTC]

o.o a contest
Im bad with colouring im afraid
but thank you indeed for the idea

Roxyielle In reply to Lukwarm [2012-04-06 05:34:21 +0000 UTC]

I see Well that's alright, still I wouldn't have noticed @___@ you're awesome at shading and such. Colouring isn't that much different

I'm wondering if I ought to give it a shot myself, but I don't have an idea of what to do with the theme

Though this group does seem rather fun

And you're welcome
