Description:
The Aurniron is a large and hardy dragon with high endurance and thick, leathery skin. They live anywhere that mineral deposits and clay exist and are heavily territorial of these areas. They use their large spades to pack clay and mud into intricate structures to house themselves and their eggs and use their antlers for scooping and detailing. The Aurniron's flame is thousands of degrees hot and they use this flame as a kiln to bake their clay structures. Their smaller secondary wings are both helpful for shaping clay and assist them in swimming by gently skimming over the surface and propelling underneath. Their eggs have highly intricate shells and look like carved clay pots which allow them to bypass less intelligent predators due to looking man-made.

the aurniron is based off of norse pottery! the species name is derived from the word "aurr", meaning "wet sand or earth, mud". the dark gray and goldish yellow appear in pottery typically with a light blue or teal color, which i think is from oxidization. i loved this part but couldn't figure out how to properly integrate it into the sample design, so i used it in the eyes! the pottery element is more present in the traits and the way the dragons use them but the color and markings are also important to the theme.
