That was the prompt in 12th grade for this thing. I'd barely gotten started on anything concrete and just liked drawing animals in my dinky skinny-armed style, so voilà.I'm uploading some old artwork that was essentially me going through things like homework assignments before creating the Naku world. Most of these were up on my old website, so if they look familiar, then yeah.
Badly-drawn wooden draw-bridge ahoy.
Done in lots and lots of pastels, ink pen, and colored pencil. Oh, and it's on a 24 inch by 32 inch (??) cardboard ...thing. All characters © circa 2001.

This style reminds me of something I'd see in Sonic comics(maybe). It's adorable, but any reason why these animals are flying? Are they imaginary?

Oh man, this picture takes me back to my youth, it was these pics here that got me interested in making my original OCs of diffrent animals then just dragons, but back to this pic, it's very nice to upload something from your past to showcase how much you grew and matured as an artist here.
Heh I like how some of these characters ultimately became the Nakus we all know and love! Ever thought about maybe re-examining some of these beta furs and making new characters?

What year did you draw this? I remember you've had artwork from 1998 on your Luna's Sanctuary website, but I haven't seen this.

Your guess is as good as mine, lol. I just went with the notion that I have colorful cutsie animals on the brain all the time.
And I drew this senior year of high school (and won first prize in our local summer faire, woohoo), so it'd be early 2001. I never scanned it because it really is, like, 2 and a half feet wide, so I had to wait until I got a digital camera that worked well enough. I could've sworn I uploaded this somewhere, but oh well, sweet! Something old/new!
