Description Except it's like a month late BUT YOU KNOW

I was bummed to be single this year, so RuffyYoshi suggested we draw our characters getting "acquainted" so we wouldn't die of total singleness this Valentine's Day. Yes, yes, it made me feel better.

It's late because I actually spent time on it. Would spend more time on it if I didn't think it could hold its own at this point, and really, I'd like to think I can finish something without going totally overboard.

I honestly don't know what they're doing. Levitation spell, I have no idea.

Glad to hear we could be an influence! But haha, nah, we were both horribly single this year and just decided to pair up our characters for laughs. XD And they were good laughs! It was all just so weird! Nah, Ruffy and I aren't an item or anything. Got me a boyfriend of my own at this point. As far as our characters go, though, they might have had a fling or two...

First off, let me say that I'm totally fine with back dimples. It's very much adorable. <3

and that's kinda my feeling on this picture. there's a lot more tenderness and whimsy to it in comparison to Ruffy's half where it sort-of feels like Luna came down to mess with a mortal pirate who just went to the brothel or something.

one thing that sorta fascinates me here is the lack of textured shading on Luna's hair. I probably also would have ultimately either nixed the outline around the smoke bottom given the semi-transparent nature of the little smokey effect you did around it to make the transition between the smoke's thickness a little bit more seamless.Β 

Still, this is very lovely. It's a treat seeing you draw good ol' Luna. It reminds me to revisit my own roots every now and then.

Thanks! I like back dimples, too. Cote de Pablo has them. (Actress from NCIS, btw). That makes them awesome.

Yeah, I thought I'd try a softer look this time. Something of a cross between her old spikes and the newer, sharper ones. These are easier to color. 8[ Noted on the smoke, though. I was trying to make it sort of seamless but then I went and inked the thing and went "oops, oh well."

Thanks again. Yeah, I need more reasons to draw her. She sends me on epic nostalgia trips.

My God this is wonderful. Thanks loads for this, Steph. I love the way Luna is grabbing onto his vest and making such a happy taken aback look. And how Ruffy is looking in her eyes while holding onto her firmly like that. Having his fingers in her hair is a very nice romantic touch. It's like the little text convo we had before Vday turned into a painting. I also can't get enough of your iconic style. I will make this the jewel of my collection of fan art I received from friends.

Oh, also you got the right proportions for Ruffy, he's like 1.5 height of a regular Yoshi. Kinda like Knuckles' new design, minus the buffness, tape all over and missing out on leg day.
