damn this is nice
mainly because of the facial expression
and question in regards to creation of the picture
how hard do u think it was to shade this picture ? ( i am asking for insight because i am still learning )

Thank you!!! ^_^ I'm glad you like it. Facial expression is something i've been trying to improve on.

Mmmm, I think for me this one was easier to shade because it has limited colors. The more colors you add the more complicated it gets, at least for me ^_^. I'm still learning how to do fur so that might change as i go. On the other hand, lots of people feel that white and black are hard to shade because colors are so limited. I actually didn't use much white on this at all. Its all off white shades and a bit of beige/brownish greys. I just used white to highlight where the light is hitting to give it the illusion of a white wolf. If it was black i would have used dark greys/browns, true black tends to be to stark sometimes and draws eyes away from the picture unless its a night scene...hope that makes sense!!

Blues are deffinetly useful as well. It depends on what kind of look your trying to acheive. Blue black is supposed to be 'true black'but can sometimes look a little unnatural but there is also brown-blacks or any other shade that you might want to show up in your highlights. Personally, For that picture and because there is red, i would try browns/grey browns. It might work it might not. You can always shade it with one color on a new layer, and depending on the program you use, play with the color settings with out having to recolor to see what you think is best. I use photoshop
