Reference sheet I made for Nami's facial Markings.

Academy Markings: Basically well the markings she would have when she is the equivalent to a Academy Student. Each member of the Onneko clan chooses a color to represent themselves at academy age. Nami chose Teal because it was her mother's color, and she was Nami's role model when she was still alive.

Genin Markings: Once Genin level is obtained, an Onneko Clansmen recieves a set of psuedo whiskers. The top two whiskers will be in their color they chose for themselves, and the bottom two will be black.

Chuunin Markings: Once a member of the Onneko clan achieves Chuunin status, they receive the red dot that is seen on their forehead. To pass a Chuunin exam is an honor within Zukagakure, each clan honors it differently, within the Onneko Clan, the honor is shown with this red circular dot. It is an honor, because it shows, that Zukagakure's ninja are as good as those of any of the five great nations, due to the fact that all of the Chuunin Exams are held within one of the five Great Nations. Also: the color of the whiskers are flipped, because the black represents the level of Power. The more black on the face, the more strength the Onneko Ninja possesses.

Teacher/Jounin Level Markings: In Zukagakure, there aren't many Jounins as there are teachers, but, most of them are people who help run the clans and assist the leader of the village (the jounins). Plenty of the teachers are Chuunin, but in the Onneko clan, teachers and Jounins are shown the same respect because they are of the same breed, they are as strong as each other and as knowledgeable as each other. Onneko Clansmen of this status still display the dot of honor from the completion of the Chuunin exams, but the black markings are changed to represent a Cat of honor. In Nami's case, she chose the Cheetah. In her father's case, it was a Lion. So nami bares the eye markings of the cheetah, the thick black liner under their eyes that follows their maw. Also, the original color used to represent oneself becomes smaller on the face, and there usually is a lot of variation with that part. It differs from person to person.

Highest Markings Available: These markings, are markings of the greatest honor available. They themselves represent great wisdom, power and ability. These markings are reserved for leaders of the clan, or village heros. In Nami's case... Well I won't spoil the story. One keeps the idea of a cat of honor in this marking as well. Here it is shown the lines around a cheetah's maw, and slight whisker like lines as well. In this case, the Chuunin mark is changed, and the Mark of Highest Honor (the tear-drop-esque red mark on the forehead) replaces it.
