She's an old char of mine I wanted to do a pokemon fan comic for. Here's her info:

Clothing : Dark blue over coat/skit mix. Wears black shorts underneath, and has black “half sleeves” on arms, going from lower shoulder to below elbow. Sometimes wears black and blue half gloves. Prefers roller blades to shoes, but also wears a pair of black tennis shoes with ice blue highlights. Has a thick brown belt/hip pack that has notches for pokeballs around side/back. Almost always adorned with her MP3 player.

Physical Description : Rain appears to be pretty average, but is actually very fit, do to performing so many rituals and dances. She prefers her hair short, more tomboyish, and has a very delicate face, another trait she naturally portrays due to having preformed so many rituals. She subconsciously moves very gracefully.
Due to island living, her skin is actually tanned, which some consider to look pretty strange, considering her hair color and eyes.

Personality : Somewhat childish, she’s been very sheltered her entire life. She can be quite stubborn, and foolhardy. She hates being delicate and girly, and is more likely to challenge you to an arm wrestling match, than a fashion show. She is actually very socially awkward. She finds amazement in some of the silliest situations, and finds any sort of ceremony or performance to be very dull. Foolhardy but not courageous.

Quirks: She used to be terrified of Dark/Ghost type pokemon, due to the “tradition/religious” nature of her upbringing. This posed quite a problem, because she’s actually naturally talented in raising/training dark/ghost types, and for some reason they are quite drawn to her.

Of course, this lead to very awkward situations when she first started her journey. Even now she tends to subconsciously be weary of them, but has mostly gotten over her fear.

She’s very smart, but unbelievably dense at times, due to her upbringing. Unfortunately, this can lead her into very haphazard situations, and bad luck sometimes just emanates from her.

Back story : Wow… Her back story is much more in depth than this, but here is a summary:

Rain comes from an incredibly religious area, where people worship a mysterious pokemon God said to live in a sealed shrine located on the island. She was a ritual performer and dancer, which most children on the island are. They have always believed that all ghost and dark pokemon are evil, and only wish to steal souls. At 15, her father, one of the “elders” exiled her when she questioned the beliefs, and completely botched an entire ritual. When exiled, people are forced to leave the island through and underwater cave, which is swarming with Sableye.

It was in this cave she encountered a Sableye, who unknowingly devoured an important crystal necklace belonging to her. Once it saw how terrified and upset this had made her, it followed her through the cave, attempting to make it up to her. He tried to keep all the other Sableye away. She continued to shun it away, scared out of her wits of this “demon.”

Finally she made it through the cave, the Sableye still following her. Rain tried everything in her power to make it go away, but to no avail. It had taken a liking to her, and intended to find a way to apologize. Eventually she ran into a Pokemon Trainer, who was very confused at the situation. He handed her a pokeball, and suggested she catch the Sableye, which obviously wanted to go with her. She broke down and obliged. She then continued to travel with her new trainer friend.

Rain continued to call her newly caught pokemon “Demon” and the name stuck. Eventually, she warmed up to the pokemon, realizing that it wasn’t evil, or after her soul. In fact, after joining up with a few more trainers, and traveling, she found she had an affinity towards Dark and Ghost types.

Eventually, through a long journey full of twists and turns and epic battles, she and her other trainer friends returned to her home island. Still shunned by her family and people, she becomes even more hated when it’s revealed that she trains dark and ghost types.

After some intense situations, the group finds themselves inside the shrine, where they find out a dark truth about the island. The “God’ they worship is nothing more than a fake, made up by the “elders” ancestors long ago, so that they could become the political powers of the island. The people refuse to believe this, and the shrine ends up being destroyed, with our rag tag heroes almost killed in the commotion.

Rain then left the island for good, and travels with her close friends to simply enjoy life.

Accessories:

1. Pikachu decorated headphones and mp3 player. Doesn’t go anywhere without it.
2. The second in a set of 2 crystal necklaces. Demon ate the other.
3. Roller blades. Rain prefers these to walking.
4. Hip back. Within it:

4 revives, 4 max potions, 4 full heals and various berries. Pokedex.

Pokemon:

Sableye: Demon
Her first pokemon. When not in its pokeball, it totes it around. He does this because he feels it’s the first gift she’s ever given him, and he cherishes it. It’s also assumed that he believes that he’s lightening the burden on Rain by carrying his own pokeball around for her.

Demon does whatever he can to help Rain at all times. He would easily take a blow if it meant protecting her.

Absol’s: Karma(M) and Fate(F)
Rain first encountered the brother and sister absols when she found Fate had become chased out of town by a group of humans, believing she destroyed a bunch of crops. In the scuffle, Fate had damaged her leg, and Rain quickly brought her to a pokemon center in an attempt to help.

Eventually Kamra tracked them down, and violently attacked Rain and co, believing it was them who hurt his sister. It broke into the center and started to attack anyone who went near his sister. In the middle of a battle against Karma, Fate intervened and sided with Rain. Karma, refusing to be separated from his sister, stubbornly forced another battle. Rain won, and ended up capturing both absols.

Karma is very stubborn and a bit mean, but he respects Rain enough to put aside their differences. Eventually it becomes a mutual bond, and he becomes her most aggressive fighter.

Fate is very slow to anger, and is extreamly laid back and quiet. She’d sooner relax then battle, but can hold her own in a fair fight. Often a mediator, she’s the middle ground between all the clashing personalities.

Arcanine: “Sol”

Sol is a very old pokemon, belonging to a very old Trainer. Rain encountered this trainer through her travels, and lost in a battle against Sol. A few weeks later, she encountered Sol again, but this time he was alone. After some detective work by our crew, Rain found out that his old trainer had passed away, and Sol had refused to let it go. It loyally trudged around the woods surrounding the graveyard, until it was finally deemed a pest. Not to be chased away, Sol fought and fought until Rain convinced it to let go, and offered to become his new trainer.

Refusing to let any old Trainer capture him, he put up a strong fight, and won three times strait. On their fourth battle, she bested him, and he agreed to join her. He’s become very loyal to her, and still is incredibly powerful despite his old age. He enjoys running wild, and often carries Rain.

Froslass: “Aura”

Froslass was a snorunt when Rain encountered and captured her in the wild. Trained well, and eventually evolved via dawn stone. No tragic story involved.

Aura is very nurturing, but somewhat aloof. She tends to sit and watch, rather than act.

Milotic: “Lure”

Milotic was received in a trade from one of Rain’s comrades, after it was discovered that he seemed to like her more anyway. Originally meant for contests, he joined the battle scene late, but still manages to hold his own.

He’s often mistaken for a female, because people seem to assume all Milotics must be female. This annoys him. He’s finicky and pushy, but not mean. Rain has on occasion used him to travel through water.
