Description

Despite the rather deafening sounds of the torrential rains hitting the window panes of Yarelts,  the lone Ninetales within the library seemed to pay no mind to the noise, as if there was no effect on her from the current weather state. To Eirlys, the library she was currently in was equally as silent as it was loud outside, the walls of shelves that were filled with books of various sorts giving a sort of comfort she couldn't otherwise explain. The library was almost her second dorm, a place where she could often be found if not in her actual dorm or in the courtyard. As always, she was surrounded by her books and notes; some of them contained writings of what she'd learned in class, some of them held scribbles of some type of shield or barrier spell, and still some with what appeared to be individual scriptures from a Bible, notes about each scripture etched in the margins. In one hand was her Bible, a small relic of Arceus' ring threaded through the other hand's fingers and resting upon the holy book's pages. The Ninetales, known as Eirlys, sighed, closing her eyes and holding her head up, mulling over the things she'd read - that is, until a crack of lightning echoed through the sky. "Hmm....", she murmured, gently placing her things to the side. She walked over to the window, gently leaning against the wall beside it and staring out with a frown. So much chaos was happening right now, with the residents of Tora under the mercy of the feral lugia. She recalled back to when she had helped in the recovery efforts just the other day, helping the others to survey any who were in need of assistance. Most of the other students had a handle on things, and so all she could muster for the time was a barrier spell to help keep some of the rain off. During that time, she'd ran across a family that was in need of assistance to escape the storm, so Eirlys had conjured up one of the barrier spells she'd been working on, one that could completely bubble them as they'd run past some of the storm's huge surges on the way to higher ground.

As the rain battered against the glass, Eirlys only found herself sinking further and further into her own thoughts - until a moving figure caught her eye. There were relatively few, only one or two that she'd heard off, that were in the Atmos class, and those few students she knew were hard at work, switching constantly between shifts to help alleviate some of the constant downpour. It had been Nora in particular that caught her attention this time, a third year student she'd seen in the halls plenty of times over. Eirlys paused for a moment, staring her over, guilt slowly starting to creep in. Here she was, warm and cozy within the library, as well as the other students who were likewise enjoying the comfort of the indoors, a number of them down below in the lunchroom making s'mores (an activity which she'd voluntarily elected herself out of to focus on her studies), and yet these students, Nora in particular the the moment, had to endure the bitter cold and wet conditions outdoors. There was a long and steady silence before Eirlys quickly gathered her things into her messenger bag, leaving it in a corner she occupied often and running down the stairs to the lunchroom. She pardoned herself before making a few s'mores, then dashed back out into the tempest.

"Miss Nora!", she called aloud, the fox quickly becoming doused from the water. The drops, quick, heavy and large in size, felt like shards of glass as they pelted against her, causing her to grimace slightly and pause, hunched over the food goodies to protect them. "Arceus, though we find ourselves within the midst of tribulation, I thank you for this gift of life that we have, and thank you for always being with me and guiding my steps..", she began, murmuring to herself. "..I implore you now please, give me power and strength...see my earnest and faithful heart, and bless me in the effort to protect the both of us..." Muttering a few more words that were indiscernible, her hands and staff soon began to glow in a heavenly, holy light, a barrier of light flowing out and enshrouding the two. It sparkled with every drop of rain, as if it were the embodiment of the Ninetales' own faith, hope, and love for her god and for others.

With a small bow, Eirlys then unfolded her arms, a sweet, cheery smile on her face as she extended one out and opened her hand, revealing a s'more that had been delicately wrapped in a napkin cloth to protect it. "May Arceus' blessings be with you, and may he reward you for your self sacrificing spirit as you endeavour to help us!" She then paused, her body language and tone becoming much more sheepish, as though what she were to say seemed a bit intrusive. "Forgive me, but...I saw you here from the library window on your lonesome...that is...would you like some company, and a warm treat...?"
