Sure Hinata wasn't there but neither was Sakura and she openly HATED him while Hinata in the MANGA was proven to like Naruto as a kid even before the teams and before Naruto ever knew team 7 and the movie never violates that (and if you want to bring up the ending, that was on the genjutsu world they were in going through all the memories they DID share from the bully incident then immediately to the chunin exams)
Yeah I mean Hinata offering Naruto to cheat on her paper, Naruto making a promise to avenge Hinata from Neji in HER BLOOD, Naruto saying he LIKED PEOPLE LIKE HER, Hinata's Confession, Naruto going bonkers because Pein nearly killed her (compared to slapping the shit out of Sakura, he went AROUND Hinata's body to protect her from Pain in his SIX TAIL+ Form), Naruto lifting her spirits by describing her strength in her eyes and 615...........are you really gonna ignore 615 and volume 64 cover????? Yeah, Kishi never paid us no mind and focused all on Narusaku with a LIE and a necrophilic "kiss"

But why is she the ONLY one with a picture with Naruto? It's not just that they are in the same picture.

It's the sun with a matching symbol
And it's not "Naruto somewhere off in the background" its him FACING THE SUN which is the direct meaning of Hinata's name.

Left utterly bewildered after witnessing how long Hinata had loved and acknowledged him, Naruto became fiercely protective of her, even bashful in her presence. When the team arrived in an abandoned Otsutsuki clan village, Naruto saw Hinata knitting the red scarf and realised it was for him, to which he decided to stop wearing his mother's scarf. As he spent time interacting with Hinata, Naruto began to experience a special kind of happiness he had never felt before, and eventually, in their moment alone, confessed his feelings to her, which left her speechless.

He's been fiercely protective of her ever since he found out they were both deemed failures by their peers when Hinata was fighting Neji on the chunin exams. Then again when he asked about her injuries and wanted to make sure she saw him beat Neji.
After the time skip, he cried just from the thought of killing her during his rampage against Pein when he injured her. And the other thing is, even in 6 tails form, in the manga, he goes around Hinata's body to aim at Pein.
Then in chapter 559, he made enough time to cheer up her spirits when he sensed she was depressed.
Just before 615, when the entire Hyuga clan was protecting him, Naruto only mentioned Hinata.
When everyone was going under Infinite Tsukuyomi, Hinata was the only one Naruto sensed and he was about to even ditch his team to go outside Sasuke's Susanoo which is evidenced when he didn't even know what was going on or that it was going on with everyone until Sasuke stopped him and said something.
Again, he doesn't realize love until The Last because Kishimoto said he didn't want that until Naruto was an adult but all the signs were there since damn near the beginning.

You don't get it. The relationship between Boruto and Naruto is not for us actually. Along the manga, kishimoto got married and had children. Instead of giving up on the project and stay with his family he decided to keep going and please us. That's also the decision of Naruto keep being a hokage. Naruto being a hokage and Kishimoto a mangaka is their dreams coming true. The part with boruto and Naruto is also a message to his kids. That they also have to endure. They were lonely all this time. Now don't go telling that Kishimoto is a shitty father cause I didn't hear you comlain when you read the manga when it started or at the middle of it. Actually you should be happy that Naruto's dreams becama a reality. He became a hokage and got a family to return to. If you can't be happy for that ending then you are not a true fan. It's not only about our OTP becoming canon don't you get it? Naruto has a FAMILY!! That lil shit we met when we started the anime and manga was always alone and then he started making bonds and now he has a family. I personally am not calling Kishimoto a "bad writer", but he did make some rather... questionable plot choices.
Be honest; is it criminal or jerkish to recognize where the plot holes and ass pulls are being made?
I don't mind the family, or the name "Boruto", or that Sakura has become a housewife, or any of the pairing endings, honestly. I could look past the less desirable pairs, if there weren't so many PLOT HOLES leftover, and if it weren't for the ass pulling made before the end. What happened to "screw destiny"??

First of all I don't see Sakura as a housewife just because SHE CLEANED HER DAMN HOUSE. And I also can't see where this screw destiny come from. If you are talking about that naruto vs neji battle i thought naruto said he wouldn't let neji decide for other people and that he couldn't car less because, let's be real destny CAN change.
Anyways I agree with you for those plot holes. I think Kishi and his assistant made it clear that there will be a part 3. I think this is not only about the children but also about the plot holes, the manga couldn't fill. Let's just wait shall we?

The fact that a whole bunch of the Naruto vs Sasuke conflict turns out to be preordained at the end kind of bothers me, but that could just be me. That's what I mean about "screw destiny".
Hell, Naruto having the Nine-Tails sealed within him started out as "protect the village from the monster contained, and have the village safeguard the jailer (Naruto) who contains it". But then, it got turned into "sealed the Nine-Tails into Naruto, to protect the village and because he'll need that power some day".
...Less and less of the story ended up as choices that Naruto made himself, that's what irks me the most.

Of course, people do change. But while Naruto did change, so did the circumstances of his birth, the intentions of his parents, and what the world around him treated "destiny" and "prophecy" as. The Sage of Six Paths and his two sons, for instance. Out of freaking nowhere, we're told that his two sons constantly reincarnate into other people who are "destined" to clash.
...Oh, so the tensions of the Uchiha and Senju due to the "old wars" meant nothing? It was just due to some stupid reincarnation cycle?? Kishi has an odd tendency to retcon a bit too much on the fly, as I saw it. His retcons and ass pulls are only exceeded by Tite Kubo and Bleach, but that's a whole different level entirely...
